Default "skipping step"?

Does MT use skipping steps for kicks? I thought we used slide steps at a 45' angle...

Ummm I think this is beginner type stuff you are talking about. Any lead step or skip is a big tell tale telegraph that says " watch out im gonna kick you now" . That being said, I guess you would use a combination of the two. Usually the skip is used on the front lead kick.
