Well the SYKES/F.. has a history of breaking, a round handle that allowed it to turn AND it was slippery when WET Plus due to its extreme taper it was useless for defense so it was redesigned into the Applegate/F..

they also used daggers as back up to the main weapon and to slip into spots between the armor in the old days, not much use for that these days not to mention the SCA aint the best place to learn realistic SD.

Default kerambit

Hey Tant01 I have a Siegel kerambit I picked up at a gunshow, with the helpful advie of a knowledgable friend. I love its my daily carry knife its flat ground on one side and single edged to stay legal for my area.

I'll try and post a pick. I had to get a little help on learning how to use it and I'm just a beginner but its an awsome knife. And I have handled and owned many a nice blade.

as far as the skyes goes yes they had faults...the one i have i inhereted from a neighbor who was in france. So i have a little sentimental value thing going on too.. i also have an applegate fairbairn....

asfar as the sca...in 1984 there wasn't much else..and though the organization it's self is not the best place there are some very knowlegeable folks too...if you read the fleck books from the period first wrestling was taught then dagger then swordsmanship...can provide authors and reference if you like...

Looking forward to seeing it!
