Default A Garland Concept

Okay...So I think I came up with a novel way to train for ambush or unexpected attacks. I haven't done alot of RBSD, and the arts I have trained in are mostly sportive (i.e. muay thai, boxing, and a sprinkling of CSW and BJJ) with some combative stuff (JKD, Inosanto blend FMA, and a spattering of Pekiti and Dekiti Tirsia and Sayoc Kali).

Anyway...this idea just came to me when I was walking home from my girlfriend's, I don't know if it's been done, but if not...please don't sell it, you can use it, but say who you got it from...I need an ego boost.

REALITY TAG...
okay so basicly it's a scenario training format set up like a game wherein a group or class fits roles based on an anonymous lottery system. This can be accomplished by drawing a particlar card out of a number of cards, or picking roles out of a hat.

Set up the class as the enviornment, and let people play out their roles.
(the trick is, let's say there are ten people in the class, and the scenario is something along the lines of a bank robbery, or a suprise attack in a group of people)
You can even set up an assassination scenario, wherein somebody can draw a target role, two bodyguards, and an attacker. The target and the bodyguards can be revealed, but the rest of the group maintains the anonymity of the attacker until he decides to attack.

All of these "games" take awhile to play, and should be improv'ed out...the more real it feels, the better.

So a basic layout;

Club/Party Scenario-
ITEMS-plastic water bottles (throw liquid or slash, thrust, stab, smash, or throw bottle), unlit cigarettes (to throw in people's faces), training knives, full body protection, and maybe a training gun.
ROLES-Bouncer(s)
Non-combatant party goers
Combatant party goer(s)
SCENARIO'S
CLUB:
Bouncer/s dealing with one irrate party goer who is acting drunk and fighting with non combatant party goer's.
Bouncer/s dealing with mutual combatants amidst non-combatants blocking the way to the fight (rubbernecking).
Bouncer's dealing with the above scenario and then being jumped by "combatant friends".
PARTY:
Some cards or roles will state non-interference roles, some will give permission to jump in.
A knifer is supposed to stab one or more people and run off...interfering roles should take the person down or prevent the attack.
A gunman is making threats and posturing...interfering role(s) de-escalate the threat with their own gun, or shoot him before he shoots anyone else. * (this could also help in hijacking, bank, or hostage taking scenarios)
Rivaling factions, red or black cards...this time reds and blacks will know who's in what group, but the numbers can be either equal or not...create a beef. (i.e. somebody from the red team refuses to leave and pushes a black team member...focus on improvised weapons, or getting to an exit or car quick without getting "tagged") (can be played with training knives and guns too)

Assassination Scenario-
ITEMS- training guns (prefferably paintball), light weight full body protection, including head, groind, and chest protection...training blade...or blades (whew...pick out the attacker if everyone's carrying blades could be hard, like where's waldo, just by checking psycho-physiological stuff.)
PICK CARDS/LOTTERY (roles out of a hat or something)
The target/mark and the bodyguards can get together and make up strategies...
GOAL- the assassin's goal is to take out the mark...his survival after the fact is irrelevant. The mark's goal is to avoid being stabbed or shot until a set amount of time has passed, or he gets to a specific location. The bodyguard's goals are two fold, naturally to protect the mark and to avoid damage to themselves...as well as to avoid harming players who are not the "assassin".

The Killer-
This one I made up first...I thought, it might be a good way to train for tueller's rule (21ft) on both sides in a more realistic scenario.
ROLES-Misc non-combatants, x number of gunmen spread out (may be overt-like carrying the training guns on them, or can be hidden), and a knifer who hides his identity until he can make a try for all the gunmen.
Start at 1 gunman, must have obstacles. Like, have people sitting in chairs, with some people walking up to a wall or something, back and forth, and gunmen standing on either side...the chairs can be used as well...anything goes to acheive the goal. Talking is encouraged...
(Like a prison scenario...kind of?)

these are just some ideas...care free to add any you want...
Comments, Questions, Feedback...???

We did something along the lines of this when I trained Krav Maga... just throwing it out there, I thought it was a fairly decent scenario type thing... hmm... yeah it was pretty good.
