Hey, I'm new to the site, but I've had a lot of experience in street fights. I'm just curious about what styles you guys think work best in a street fight.
Personally, I use a couple of Muay Thai kicks and punches to get things started, or if the other guy is already too combative, I try to unbalance him to the ground, where I can apply chokes and breaks, since most attackers are not comfortable with this kind of fighting. What about you? |

Grab and stab. Preferably when they turn around. Supinate the wrist and pump into the liver and kidney through the back...sorta like a sawing motion, cutting through subcutaneous tissue and fat until I can pop the lung like a water balloon.
Actually...no...I avoid fighting. Because I'm a pacifist. And the above passage is a reason why it's good to avoid shit...because you never know. |

Ive had alot of success with the Thai clinch. Everyone thinks its a simple manuever, but when you really know what you're doing with it you can really punish non-trained people with it. Ive ended two fights in less than 20 seconds with it.

Phui... You're lucky. That's all. Siamese boxing, kickboxing, judo? It ain't nothing to murderous intent and a sharp blade. I hope you have a long happy life. Seriously! Keep your art in the dojo...

Don't be an ass. I carry two knives on me all the time and I know how to use either one of them or both at the same time.
And yes, I'm very lucky to be alive today. Thank you for your opinion, and know it's been completely ignored. - Management |

Yeah, asshole, I do need the security of an edged weapon. It comes from having people trying to kill you because your sister betrayed their cult.
And so yes, I keep my steel very sharp. Quote:

I think it's sad people have to carry weapons with them. What kind of places do you live in, what kind of people are you and your friends and why not move somewhere safer??

Also...seeing a buddy of mine almost disembowled out of the blue gave me the impression that having a knife on you is secondary to having one in your hand and knowing exactly what's going on around you...which is impossible to do all the time, and would certainly be considered maladaptive and anti-social. (think about walking around with a knife in your hand everywhere you go, looking everyone up and down, and never getting your back turned to open areas...yeah... can someone say paranoid delusions???)Anyway...yeah, in short...weapons are only good if you can use them...if somebody gets the jump on you...you're basicly unarmed...maybe worse if you're all tied up trying to get to your weapon. If you've fucked up big...and somebody is smart, looking for you, and has your routine and shit down...and has the intent to knife you...buh-bye. Sorry...you be pretty fucked. Any outcome not involving at the very least greivous bodily harm can be attributed more to luck, or the other person making a huge mistake (i.e. drawing the knife outside of 30 feet within plain sight of you, or yelling their intentions as they are getting out of a car or something) than anything else. what cult buddy? |
