Default grabbing an automatic handgun

i see videos of gun self defense,,where you grab the top of the gun, move it away from you,, then do a technique...i think that would work for a revolver best,,, but if you grab the top of an auto,,and it goes off,,wont the slide move back to discarge the old round and burn the crap out of your hand? That burn plus the jar of the gun going off i'd think would make you let go.

i know if you grip the top of a revolver, its real hard to squeeze the trigger,,if the hammer is back, maybe you can get your finger between it and the pin so it wont go out..I'd think alot of fire comes out of the center of a revolver as well.

anyway,, anyone know how much fire/powder will burn your hand by grabbing a gun that is discharging?

thanks.

Some guy pulls a gun on you, your heart beating a hundred fucking miles a minute, your adrenaline pumping, you go tunnel vision, you grab the gun and twist..

are you really gonna feel the burn if the shell does happen to eject and burn the side of your hand...lol... I think not

I think its much better than being shot

and the whole thing about the slide coming off of your hand

ever hear of the death grip........

yeah, if you think too much about this stuff, when it happens your just gonna freeze, just grab the weapon, pull it to the side away from you, hold on like hell, and fight for your life

really no fancy tactics gonna work in this situation

I learnt pistol disarms at a seminar once. They are only good from no more than 30cm away from you and you have to fucken quick and know exactly what you are doing. And that's minus all the adrenalin/fear factors going on inside you.

Does anyone have experience of using one for real or know of someone (1st hand preferably) who has disarmed a gun toting crim??
