My point exactly..no matter what situation i'm in i'd never kill someone, thats why i don't want to carry a knife i couldn't use on someone...i don't think there's killing training techniques

You don't think? What the hell is so hard about inserting a blade? Do you have some moral code of conduct that requires you to give your own life in some desperate situation? You know where vital organs are? You want quick results or slow and painfull? You could stab his groin or slit his throat. Both lethal but the first one could take a while...

There are MANY techniques for a blade. Short or long. Techniques to disarm and restrain and yes, techniques to deanimate, (Kill or maim...)

It's up close and personal no doubt about it. You get blood on your hands too. I could live with that if it were necessary for my own survival. And YOU? Rather be a victim would you?

I'm getting sick of all the bleeding hearts in the world... Phui! I'm done!

Good luck to you.

Hey buddy, there is no such thing as a rated G version of self-defense. The truth of the matter is a truly combative platform is not often palatable or easily consumed by the masses. Not because of the techniques involved but the mindset needed. Many folks really don’t want to come to grips with the true nature of brutal violence. I have found that many folks seeking self-defense training didn’t want it after all, preferring instead, some watered down politically correct version of Biff the playground bully picking on the karate kid.

In essence you can boil it down to I'm going home, thus I'm starting at 100% and you can work down the force continuum as needed. That’s pretty much it, the stakes are extremely high.

No kidding.....look, i know how to use a blade better than most thugs out there, but i wont go for the throat, period. I know i'll end up stabbing him in the thigh, arm or shoulder, i might even carve open his face and take out an eye (already did that with my finger) but i won't kill someone unless i have absolutely no other choice. And by that i mean having exhausted all my other options

That takes a great deal of "in the heat of the moment" decision making skills which most people don't have without a lot of training and as far as my thoughts on the subject goes starting so far down on the force continuum latter really gives the other guy a huge advantage.

You see I have been in many gunfights and allot of other kind of fights too, though the weapons may differ, a fight is a fight and one thing I have learned is "initiative" is everything...it becomes and all-out drag race to gain tactical superiority over the other guy/s. If you allow him to get there first the likely result is a trip to the ER or morgue.

A SD situation is not about keeping honor, self-respect, or pride it is about doing the unthinkable in a desperate situation but you have to think about all this before hand. If you can leave safely without getting into a physical altercation than great, avoidance is the highest level of SD, but if you have to fight then fight to WIN, and to WIN you have to be "willing" to do whatever it takes including cheating, the false start, or even killing the other guy if that is what it takes.

But whatever you do you have to get there first with the most and take the position of tactical dominance and never give it back. This takes quite a bit of mental fortitude but that is what it takes. The G rated path is nothing more than a recipe for failure.

Now, before anyone gets the wrong idea I am not suggesting killing everyone you get into a fight with but I am suggesting being mentally prepared to do so if that is what it takes. In other words being "willing" to do so.

dude, will smith lives in bel air with carlton. if there is a party at hefs mansion, they are going to be there, they live down the street. uncle phil used to not let them go to the parties when they were younger, but now that they are over 21 of course they will be there. and who better to be your wingman than will smith? not so much carlton.

I thought that this was pretty interesting in answer to the original question on this thread, even though it has nothing to do with Will Smith:
