Default What would you do?

Ok here's the background my finacee and two of her brothers and other family live in a middle eastern country they don't drive because of the accident causing arab drivers so they use either taxis or a car service. So they are waiting an hour for a taxi to get home and instead of bveing dirven to hteir place the driver decides to just drop them off wherever he feels like. They don't want to get out they payed and want to go to their destination(they are nowhere near thier place) the driver pulls over the car and starts unloading their groceries(they were grocery shopping). My fiancee's brother gets out of the car and tries to tell the guy what are you doing and the driver a citizen of this country pushes him then punches him in the arm. What can he do the guys a citizen and he's not it's his word against his. So they exit the taxi and make other arangements to get home and complain to the taxi company. So first would you a guy for no reason then punch him in the arm? Second what would have happened if this happened in america?

You gotta deal with some ambiguous, frustrating shit sometimes when you are overseas and in uncertain circumstances. Best to just curse the driver in his own language, go get another ride, and try to forget it. If pissed enough, complaining to the car company, the local, authorities, the embassy, etc. can be pursued but will probably come to nothing.

That having been said, unless surrounded by an obviously angry mob, the punch in the arm should have earned him a drop on his ass at the least.

What 'would have happened' in the US would depend on where/when in the US, I guess.

Haha! In countries like that, you allways come across some people like that. You just gotta know how to deal with them. I have had my fair share of ass-hole taxi drivers whilst I was staing in India for somtime. Not as bad as that story, but similar kinda stuff, with the whole "stop when they feel like it" kinda thing.
