Mr Singh, a completely untrained person, sustained a few minor injuries but managed to take the knife from Kilroe. A struggle ensued and Kilroe was stabbed in the chest, and later died.

So here we have a law abiding man, defending his business, his livelihood, and his life against a career criminal. He faced a lethal threat, and responded using force appropriate to that threat, using the attacker’s own weapon against him.

The Crown Prosecution Service intend to charge Mr Singh with murder

I bet it was that whole "Once he had taken possession of the knife he was in control of the situation" thing?

Or was it something else?

That's always crap to hear. I often post that its very tough to explain in court/to police why you had to do whatever it was you had to do.

I think most people are brainwashed with the "You must have did *SOMETHING* to bring this on yourself" mentality.

I have indeed Mike and this, amongst many other reasons, is why you need to help sponsor my visa across the pond

Bless your heart.

I have some boxing matches to fight, some soldiers to teach, and a book to promote for a good friend.

When all that is done, its time to look over the water.

I did indeed, a topic that resonates with me a great deal.

A valuable addition to the emotional content.

If your going I'm following, I wish to live in a world where if you defend yourself your not getting nicked to keep the tally of arrests for each crime up to g'ment guidelines.

How can a g'ment state you must have so many arrests for this crime so many arrests for that crime, do they issue the offenders with fines and/or bonuses for not keeping/keeping the crime rate up, thus forcing people to go out and commit more crime to self serve their statistics for arrests!!!!!!!!!!

Some democracy hey? The g'ment tells us how many crimes can be commited and how many can be prosecuted, the rest don't count, HAHA

Absolutely, but I'm afraid the general public may be too brainwashed to realize the need now

Re-reading my post, it was abit of a rant, sorry for that.

I had just had a lengthy discussion with a friend who is a police officer and was regaling a tale in which a number of officers were, not reprimanded but told they hadn't cleared up/had enough arrests for a certain type of crime for the last period of the year, the only problem was no crimes of this type had been reported or commited (in this particular area) yet they were still given a dressing down for not having made enough arrests, this is really bothering me for some reason........

Seems to me that would lead to innocent people being arrested just for stats. Now if they were smart enough to do it on a percentage....
