Talking Self Defence lessons - Male problems

Hi I'm a 18-year old woman and I'm taking self defence lessons.
I think it's very useful for us women and I sure don't mind kneeing a guy where it hurts . Every woman at our class has her own male "opponant" however mine is starting to bother me. The guys don't wear protection accept a helmet and when I nail "my guy" in the groin he gets mad. He says that I can't kick him there because it hurts too much. I think this a load of you know what. What's your opinion?

Janice

Tell him to buck up, put on a cup, and if he starts to whine, blast him in the groin again.

You can't fix stupid.

Why in the samhill isn't he wearing protection? Any guy who gets kicked in the unprotected pills more than once deserves it.

That said, it's probably better not to kick really hard in the privates even with a cup - direct hits still hurt pretty good.

he should have better sense than that. It's a women's self defense class! That's the primary target for most women.

On re-reading the post, I'm going to have to (gulp) agree with H2H. If nobody in the class is wearing a cup then there must be something else going on...

Just what is the format in this class?

The woman who's in charge of the lessons says that the guys may not wear groin protection because if you kick them in the groin when they don't wear protection you know how an offerder moves after such a hit. If they do wear protection they don't move because they don't feel anything, so when you are in a real situation you don't know how the offender will move after the kick and you need more time to figure out your next move. And time is everything in those situations. It's not a ballbusting club or anything, the lessons are just created to be as close to reality as possible.

your instructor is a moron.

Kicking men in the groin, can lead to death or severe injury.

One of my students was hit with a cup on, the cup broke in half and he went down and was blind. It took several minutes for his vision to return and well over 10 minute before we got him up off the floor.

Also know a guy who had to have surgury to pull down a testicle that had been kicked and lodged inside his body. Had he not had surgury it could have killed him.

Who is this person who is teaching this stuff?

I never post, and this is the thread I actually choose to respond to...

Quick question? Does he get to hook you in the titty after you kick him in the nuts? It's all fun and games until the other guy is allowed to hit back.

Oh, yeah. I think your instructor is nuts (pun intended).

Holy Jesus! That is nearly the most unbelievable thing I've heard on this forum in long time (which is saying something). Does your instructor also advocate two or three men at a time tackling the women and beating them senseless so you know how that feels? Do you hit each other with bricks and gouge out each others eyes?

Either:

1) You've misrepresented the situation and there are a number of ground rules or,

2) Your 'instructor' is beyond incompetant pushing psychotic.

Hello Group,
I have been studyiing Martial Arts since 1963, and THIS instructor sounds VERY scary to me...

BTW... Through my non scientific research with Law Enforcrment and Medical sectors since 1979, it is thought that up to 20% of the male population in the U.S will not feel a full force groin strike, due to psychological, neurological, mental, drugs, alcohol and/or any combination of the above problems. Hmmmmm 80/20 odds???? That bites...

PLUS..... Groin strikes are a "comparatively" slow move and they are REAL easy to block..

We do not include the groin as a PRIMARY target.
Respectfully,

your teacher sucks. tell the guys to wear cups and give em good kicks. they will still react. hell im flinching just at the thought of getting kicked and i know the feeling well. tell the teacher and the boys to suck it up. hell i forget to wear a cup to one seminar and i'm sufferin for it because i forgot to tell my partner i didn't have one. cups are a mans best friends. right up there with dogs and his right hand...or left.

There is something so seriously wrong with these self-defence classes.

What guy in his right mind would go to one, with the knowledge that he was not to use any protective equipment, and that women would be kicking him in the balls "to see what it really feels like, and to witness a realistic reaction".

Seriously, guys, would you EVER volunteer to be the example for this exercise???

And equally, what woman would seriously want to do a class where she gets to cause genuine, serious pain, and potentially ruin a guy's fertility in order to feel confident that she could do it in the "real world"???

SOMETHING IS WRONG.

I can't figure out if this "something" is the instructor, the male students or the female students, but I suspect it's all three.
