Do you hold boards for breaking? By IcemanSK - Thu, 07 Dec 2006 21:31:07 GMT
========= I had a testing on Saturday for my students. It was the 1st time breaking boards at our school. I had a father (who has MA experience) hold the boards that day. (I'm not physically able to do so). I got to wondering how often women are asked & have experience holding boards for breaking techniques. What are your experiences? Of course I hold boards. Mostly for the kids though. I am not exactly a heavy weight...so holding for a big person could not work out so well. I did hold for my sensei though...three boards for a demo...

I also hold boards. I'm 5'2", weigh 140, but i still hold for guys several inches & quite a few lbs heavier. if i need help, i'll have someone hold with me.
honestly, holding for a break takes just as much work as breaking does, if you do it right. I teach all my kids to hold, too.
