BITCHOLOGY

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs,
they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love,
they call me a bitch
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts
or do things my own way, they call me a
bitch.

Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart.
It means I live my life MY way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it,
I am defined as a bitch.
The same thing happens when I take time for
myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when
I act a little selfish.

It means I have the courage and strength to allow
myself to be who I truly am and won't become
anyone else's idea of what they think I
"should" be.
I am outspoken,
opinionated and determined. I want what I want
and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on me,
try to douse my inner flame, try to squash
every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
You won't succeed.
And if that makes me a bitch ,
so be it.
I embrace the title and
am proud to bear it.

C - Control of
H - Herself
OR:
B = Beautiful
I = Intelligent
T = Talented
C = Charming
H = Hell of a Woman
OR:

The poem speaks to independently minded women; women who are just learning to develop their own persona. But at what point does being a bitch (and a real one, not a "beautiful individual taking control of herself") work against a woman?

Is this possible? Is their a fine line?

I don't know.

It's the deal of when a man and a woman do the same - is it perceived the same?

BTW, if there is a fine line, my sister is so far past it, it won't register on the horizon!

Its when a women goes from a "Beautiful Individual Taking Care of Herslef" to a "Ballistic Individual Terrorizing Children and Humans." LOL

Bitches exist and they are plentiful. I have met and gone out with some. They are not to be confused with women who are self confident, respectful, considerate of others, yet do not compromise. They say what they feel, but do it diplomatically and think of others at the same time. These women are worth their weight in gold, and are not to be confused with female dogs.

The worst kind of bitches are those who really like their freedom of speech, but refuse to practice freedom of thought where positions and consequences are weighed carefully. Mix in a mean spirit and sarcasm, and this is someone to avoid.

I would say those are good people qualities, man or woman.

I would replace the descriptor "mean spirit" with intentionally cruel and self-important.

Sarcasm doesn't phase me much as its so common place these days.
