Default Mental Growth through MA

Glancing at our organization's newsletter I was composing this picture in my mind to submit for publication: All our adult female students, from the rank (no pun intended) White Belt newbie to the Black Belt wannabe instructors...

WE have an ecclectic bunch: A reining Miss Senior Citizen, a winner of an ultimate makeover contest and a former regional Bodybuilding Champ...tall and short, slender and solid, timid and brash...

But the one thing we all have in common is the personal growth we experience along the journey. We all have become stronger as a person. Some have always been strong, but some have walked through the doors shy and timid to walk out with their heads held up high...

I think it's the most important part of the Martial Arts, in terms of self defense, not so much the how to but the fact that you know you are.

Like my friend displayed her achievements in life with a demonstration of her new found passion: A Freestyle performed to Helen Redding's 'I am woman, hear me roar'

Yes, she is the Senior Miss...
