Reconnecting after a long absence By Mellyn - Wed, 18 Apr 2007 07:12:48 GMT

=========

I suppose this is an introduction of sorts. I began training again just about a year and a half ago after about a 3 yr. absence (started a family) and wow, just about everything has changed on me! I started Tang Soo Do in 1994 then moved and had to switch styles to Tae Kwon Do in 1997. Carried on with that until 2002 then moved again and took a break. I finally began training with a new master (recommended by my old master) and I find out that the kibons are gone, palgwes are gone, and many of the folds for my blocks have completely changed. Nobody corrected me for about a year, until my new master suggested I test for my next dan and take over teaching some of the classes. heh... Boy have I got some work to do! Anyway, it's nice to be back in the community, only now coming out from lurking. Very nice to see so many women participating. My new(ish) master is also a woman.

Do you mean in the federation you are part of, because I still train kibon and palgwe as well as taegeuk.

Just confused by your statement.

Thanks, and welcomd back!
