Seeing that I'm in the dating trenches in a specific place (that could be the operative thing), most gals here tend to date guys whom are like their dad or like the guys they grew up around - and I'm alot different than those dudes.

For example, I enjoy fishing, but that's a guy activity for the most part - and I'm an active person and enjoy things like dancing; most gals around here seem to like dancing as much as greenpeace likes oil spills. Most dudes here ain't into dancing either.

I speak a few different languages, not perfectly, but enough to get by - in this neck of the woods its practically useless and unappreciated.

Lastly, I tend to treat women well.

Alot of women see this as a weakness for some reason and seem to prefer guys who avoid spending time with them or beating them...I know it sounds absurd, but I call it like I see it.

I'm different than what gals in this part of town are used to, so its tough making connections. However, if I travel up to the city talking to gals seems alot easier, even the country gals

Honestly though, there are some great women out there. And Tom Yum, I'm all in support of that. I think half the reason that people get so squished is their crappy choice in dating partners. Not that you have bad taste, but I support people being smart. (Heh, how was that for a blanket statement? "I support people being smart" )

Let me preface this, by saying I have made some excellent choices in the past, but circumstances were less than perfect.
