I taught these to my wife and she brutalized me with them.
1. Place foot on top of opponents foot, pull opponent twards you. Turn body, pull strait. Watch opponent fall on ass. Takes about 3 seconds, or less. 2. Place one arm on your opponents lower back, the other fore-arm across the targets neck. Push/pull in opposite directions, forcing the opponent to bend backwards. If your opponent seems to still have good balance, wrap one leg around the leg of your target, locking the opponents leg with your foot. Then raise up with your locked leg, thus raising the leg of your opponent. Apply pressure with your arms in the proper direction until your target falls over. (Do not do this if opponent is armed) 3. If someone tries to pick you up and you are facing them, stick an arm between their legs, and lock it at around a 90* degree angle. If you are still being raised, lock the fingers of your free hand into the pressure points on the back of your attackers neck. Not only will this hurt, but it will solidify your possition and distribute your weight in an inconvenient manner for your attacker. I will edit this later, I must go kill a fly. |

I once went on a date with a woman who couldn't cook.
Not knowing this, I asked her if she would cook a nice meal. Her cooking brutalized me.... I didn't blame her. I just ate as much as I could, thanked her and left. I came over the next time we had a date and helped her cook a nice dinner. She 'brutalized' me again - I think my pelvis was almost broken ![]() What's the point of this? You can't do everything on your own and sometimes you need someone to point you in the right direction.

teaching a women how to fight, shouldnt be any different then teaching a male how to fight.

I would teach her the basic positions - guard, cross-body, mount. A few transition moves from each i.e. guard sweep to mount, cross-body to mount, half guard, how to bridge. Then I would teach her how to get the best position to submission.

If I had a girlfriend, I would teach her BJJ - or what little I know, with a focus on mobility, leverage and target selection over power.
I would teach her the basic positions - guard, half-guard, cross-body, mount. A few transition moves from each i.e. guard sweep to mount, cross-body to mount, half guard, how to bridge. Then I would teach her a few finishing holds from each position or how to change or reverse a hold and how to get a submission. In the past, I've taught my ex-girlfriends how to bridge and get the mount, how to go from guard to finishing holds - arm-bar, triangle, lapel choke to other finishing holds, how to reverse a lapel and a straight choke, guillotine, wrist-locks from different positions, key lock, how to reverse stand up holds and get a submission - Its actually more than BJJ, there's some hapkido too. Hell, I've taught them how to box, how and where to hit etc. I should hold this off for someone more special....lol

Women have a different morphology to men, differing levels of physical attributes, and different psychological and emotional reactions to violence. That doesn't mean for one second that a woman cannot be taught to be as an effective fighter as a man, but is the way you achieve that goal is through specific methods. I have been teaching female self-protection for over ten years, and many ladies have come to me with training in other arts, where they were taught to fight like a male. I always put them up against my male students, and their approach falls down under pressure 100% of the time. Thats not because a woman can't fight, its just because they have been taught to fight like something they aren't, like an insect, a monkey, or a man. Teach a woman to fight like a woman, using her natural attributes, the skills and movement that she is naturally adept in. Teach her the holes in a man's game, to cheat, to circumvent, to be unfair, to shock, to overwhelm, to survive and to escape. |

BJJ is excellent rape defense?????
Dude, this doctrine is just plain wrong! Teaching your girlfriend, daughter or wife BJJ will get them raped. Didn’t you hear what Michael was saying about morphology? Oh, okay, you posted that before he stated the obvious. The real issue with Women’s Self Defense lies in a re-programming issue; women are mostly brought up to be good girls and to respect men generally. They need to understand threat analysis, personal space awareness, ruses by the enemy/criminal, target specific attack & escape paradigms, improvised weapons (not sprays) and if they do hit the ground, they need to know how to bite and get up off the ground. The cheating, yes I am for that, but the process of teaching this to women is also different to teaching the same idea to men. Women have to understand why it is essential for them to do this. They have to understand that their survival is relied upon by their family and friends. Women are nurturing beings that have to be given permission to protect themselves as a top priority. We have all heard the stories of women who develop extra ordinary strength to protect their children; they have to transpose this mindset to their own self-protection. Out Joe |
