![]() | ========= Tonight through luck of the draw I ended up with a training partner I've never worked with before. We started class holding the pads against our bodies in different places for variations of round kicks. This guy is almost freakishly tall. I don't know him well, but to me, he wasn't coming across as trying to be macho or prove anything, he seemed decent enough. He even asked me to tell him if he was going too hard. His kicks were hard--they really hurt! But I didn't say anything about it for fear of being perceived as fragile...maybe I have a bit of an ego where martial arts are concerned, and I hate to think that the rest of the class is thinking that women really are the weaker sex. I'm not used to being in that kind of pain holding the pad for kicks. OTOH I originally started training Krav Maga to toughen up...maybe I'm being a wimp and I should learn to put up with it. It's not like any bones were broken, but there was enough power on impact to have me (briefly) concerned about the possibility. Have you ever been in that position before, and if so, how did you handle it? Were there any negative repurcussions afterward (in future classes)?
