Hello Everyone,
Just as an update to your website. PLEASE NOTE: The Guro Dan Inosanto seminar that you have listed as August 15 and 16 is incorrect. The dates are August 19 and 20 at the Bedford Boys Ranch in Bedford, Texas. The Boys Ranch is located on Forest Ridge Drive, north of HWY 183 in the Dallas/Fort Worth Mid Cities area. It is very close to last year's location. If you need further information please contact me at doris_mb@hotmail.com. The past e-mail address is no longer used.
Hope to see you there,
Doris

Hey, what's up y'all? Did anybody see that Martial Arts special on TLC last week. I think it was full of sh_t!!! They interviwed all these bammas in Europe that I never herd of, who was saying that forms is a waste of time! I cannot stand people who come along and chang tredition. I be going to alot of tournements and y'all bammas can't fight. And one more thing I get tired of Blackbelt Magz., and TeaKwonDo Times putting weak ass, never herd of, always talking about thier style can beat so and so but you never see them or any of their students at any of these major tournements winning!!!!!!!!!!!!

I currently hold a second dan black belt in TKD. I train under 4th dan Adriano Tubello and am affiliated with the Unified TaeKwon-Do Iternational and Grand Master S.L. Kopperud in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. The youngest in North America to achieve the rank of 8th dan in both the World and International styles of TKD. If anyone is interested in a non-political TKD organization, check it out at www.unifiedtkd.com. I have also trained in Hapkido and Aikido which I have taken what I could use and found most helpful to my training.

I watch, listen and observe. It is life that teaches me every second of everyday for it has the most humbling quality. And when you find yourself staring at the nothing, you come to the realisation that you are but nothing. And that is where the greatest of strength and greatest of weakness lies all at one time. For when you reach that point you have no fear, for you are nothing. You are life and you are death all at one time.

I have studied under various instructors and have been into martial arts for 20yrs.+ and I can say I have put alot on the line to better my fighting arts.My personel advice is,explore philipino martial arts and from time to time train in a hardcore fasion ie.minimize protective gear to head groin and hands.also study differant styles like Cabalas escrima, inosanto kali, and for methods of training most defenitly check out the dog brothers at www.dogbrothers.com Thats what I did and I am a much better fighter because of it. Best of luck. Tom

I disagree on one of the answers on the martial arts test. Kicks can be practical. I am 16 years old and studied in tkd for 11 years and a 3rd degree black in the sport and practiced thai-kick-boxing for 5 years and in and jkd for 1 year and kempo as a orange belt now. Kicks can be practical but it all depends on how you use it and what situation your in and if you have fast legs.

Hi. My name is Eric Paulin. I've been studying Tae Kwon Doe (9 years), Aikido(7 years), and Kendo (5 years). Kendo is my all time favorite martial art, so I consider myself quite the Kendo buff. I'm interested in taking Brazilian Kickboxing. I know how to pronounce it, just not how to spell it. I'm I would speel it, I would make quite the fool of myself. Anyway, if you can tell me the correct spelling of that martial art, I'd appriciate it. It starts with a C... and you can e-mail me to tell me, if you would be so kind. Also, be sure to look at my Kendo webpage. It's not very conclusive, but if you wish to know more about Kendo (the Japanese sword Martial art [The Way of the Sword]) feel free to e-mail me as well. Excellent site by the way.

My dream is to one dayunite all traditional snake stylists in anetwork wherewe can exchange information, perhapse forma non-profit non-political no-ego federation. My stipulations are simple: You must know at least one traditional snake form, andmost of it's applications. You must have been taught by a qualified sifu snake fighting techniques, snake self-defense and the like. Youmust not practice wushu "snake" or Rodnie Chen's "Snake style kung fu" (no offense sir, it isa martial art- you are good, but not what I'm looking for-I repectfully apologize if thatseems harsh). Iwant the style to consolidate, because I see it (the old-fighting snake style) within a few generations of dying. I also see guys who can do the form well, but couldn't even explain it's appications, or block a simple kick or punch with snake technique. This is for future generations, not just our selfish benefit.
Signed with sincere wishes, Mr. Belida Han Uckun

I have been studying Martial Art scince I could walk. It has become a very deep part of my being. I seek those with a warrior's sprit. Those that I can discuss Martial Art with. Even those that I could possibly challenge for the sole purpose of skill development. Do not misunderstand, I wish only to cultivate myself further through combat. I am not looking to be hurt or to hurt anyone. I simply long for a challenge. But more than that...a kinderd spirt of Martial Art.

For the past five years I have been studying a Karate style called Uechi Ryu. I beleive that in order to understand the full scope of Karate in any system, one should consistently and repeatitvly practice the kata, techniques, bunkai, and kumite of that one system until they are good before attempting to move to another karate system or martial arts style. If not, It would be like trying to put together pieces of two diffetent puzzels.

I see so many forums on "NHB", shoot fighting, etc. etc. etc...........are there any good forums around for people who are just interested in street tactics and defenses? I have a low blue belt (8th kyu; there are 10 before black) but that is because I was unable to make two promotions. If I had gone to them and passed, I would be a low purple belt (6th kyu).

At the Telluride Dojo, we practice the SeizanRyu sect of Kempojujutsu.
For those unfamiliar with the system, it is a comprehensive doctrine which includes extensive striking and groundfighting/grappling. Our classical curriculum includes weaponry, healing arts and the Japanese language as areas of study.
"SEIZANRYU KEMPOJUJUTSU" translates approximatly to "West Mountain sect/style of Fistic Methods and Soft skills".
Our dojo is one of the highest in the United States, at about 8800 feet. Training at altitude builds remarkable endurance and a high level of physical stamina.
Our dojo is surrounded by beautiful 13,000-14,000 foot snowcapped peaks. The senior instructor at the dojo is Daniel C. Pauley Sensei, 6th Dan.
We also enjoy practicing Kodokan Judo and both Muay Thai and Western boxing. We have semi-annual events and training camps which are by invitation. Interested, sincere parties should inquire via mail or E-mail. We welcome visiting martial arts practitioners.
There are indeed other things to do in Telluride, Colorado besides skiing!

Hey all, I'm back again. I wanna say HEY to Blake, David, Sensei, Jennifer, and the rest of the dojo. I asked my sensei to borrow the dojo key so many times that he gave me one, so now I've been training every day. New kumite and kata classes at the Bushido Shotokan Karate-do Academy start Sept. 9, and the regular class times begin on the 8th. Remember, "The ultimate aim of the art of Karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but the perfection of the character of its participants." -- Master Funakoshi (Father of Modern Karate, Founder of Shotokan)

Greetings to all. I started training when I was 13, am now 35. I have a background in Kajukenbo and Kenpo Karates. Am not training at this time and miss it terribly. Am looking for an instructor in the Va Beach area who would be willing to fill my thirst for knowledge. I have been told by the highest source that in order to help others, teaching the martial arts is my direction in life. Would anyone be interested or know of anyone who can help a fellow martial artist out?????? Tae kwon do would be my style of choice. Thank you all.

Fantastic informative website. I admire your work. In my books, Martial Arts is not a 3 months exercise but rather a lifetime commitment. I study Taekwondo myself and enjoy every minute of it. I wanna learn a lot more. A very good friend of mine, who studies Jusitsu, Maui tai boxing, Karate, Kickboxing along with other different styles, once told me about at that time NEW style (Notjusudo). He and some friends made an article, with photos to the "Inside Karate" magazine, in the summer of 1991(+). I haven't found anything on the Net leading to this specific style at all. Have you seen this article, or have you heard of this style, would you happen to have a copy of this old magazine, then I would be more than happy to hear from you asap. Thank you!

In response to many guestbook entries:-
The third rule of sucessful warfare is to be underestimated.
Do not tell your 'enemy', whoever he/ she may be, your 'style' or method(s) of fighting. Your actions may become predictable.
Do not state your achievement; the fall is geater from a higher plynth and age/ time will decrease you even if, at present, a more skillfull opponent does not.
Appear weak when, perhaps, you are strong; such invitation may distract your adversary from their well-practiced strategy.
Step carefully; danger is always unexpected.
You have read these things before; why is it so hard to live by them?

Chris you told me With Tai Chi Chaun it would all come to me, mostly it has, but its been 19 years old friend since I saw you and though I still sit under the old tree it would be nice to know if you are still of this earth. Harry are the ripples still spreading, they have not told me where you are. My veneer of ching wu is fading but still there.
