For a fixer upper you need to have time, willingness to live in a mess, money and contacts in the trades. Looking back now things that matter to us would be: Garden with access and view from living area (our garden is big but very disjointed with no clear line of sight from the back of the house) Storage and lots of it. Somewhere to keep things like hoover, ironing board etc We have three reception rooms but one is mostly used by our eldest so for us 3 would be a minimum. Bigger study Bigger bedrooms for the kids Extra bathroom/shower room but not necessarily an en-suite And a spare bedroom for guests
