Why not forget about spelling and discuss the art itself? I myself practice Beng Bu (crushing step) every day. Some teachers say it is really all you need.
If you can use all the postures, transitions, techniques, and theories inherent in this mother form. What do you think?

testing people how to spell it wont get you any closer tp true master. are you expecting a mantis master must know that in english? what if he's from china? and what if he's not from the 7 star, there's also 6 harmony mantis, plum flower mantis, northern, southern....etc. it's like you ask a person how to say 詠春 in english, there's wing chun, ving tsun..., even in chunese people use 詠春or永春.
i just dont want you to find a fake master who just searched the "5 mantis styles in english for beginners" on google.

my sister does northern praying mantis. I haven't tried fighter her yet tho.
Just to clear things up tho, if there's a tong long in a name of a style of kung fu does it always mean they are doing praying mantis. Is tong long just praying mantis

Sthn Pray. Mantis
Our school used to teach Sth Prey Mantis but now teaches Ging Mo Kune.
I'm not sure what the difference's are but it is based upon SPM.

hey man, im into mantis, southern praying mantis. kwong sai jook lum gee tong long pai. it is tong long (but that isnt the full name). i got a thread on southern mantis if you wanna check that out.
oh yes, southern mantis is a very real system, but its very small. i only know of a few schools in america, and most of those are rented gymnasiums. but mantis is a real and ver effective system.
which style of mantis do you take guy? southern, northern, 7 star?

BBBB, if you train with gawain and malcolm sue and the other feller here trains with henry sue the styles of preying mantis taught are very different. Henry teaches the totally traditional style exactly as it is from a book he was given while malcolm does his own thing which is, in my opinion, far more effective than what henry teaches.

I do Malcolm Sue, and I wonder if you might be able to reply with any rumours of his fighting prowess.
It's Ging Mo Kune but derived from Southern P.M. It involves the Bil Sao, Pok sao, Gow Choi and Pay Sao and of course the Chin Tek= Groin Kick. Yes, low kicks and only when in complete control i.e. when you have them by two hands.
I like Chow Got.
Weapons are great. I'm doing the dagger's at the moment(Green Belt=2nd Belt).
We do chen style Tai Chi and that's pretty cool...I've completed the first level.
Always talking about emotions, tho...that's cool tho..no sweat..as long as they teach us the good stuff!!
By the way..your link didn't work..I'll look it up-tomorrow..
Tell me if you do some of the same stuff or not....Like 3 step theory an-all-that-stealthy stuff;}
