Who do you think would win in a no holds bar match between the two? Let us imagine that both are in their prime in this match...

Muhammad Ali without a doubt, unless Bruce's stradegy was to grapple, then Bruce would stand a chance.

Are you crazy? Bruce Lee could have have kicked Muhammad Ali's legs until he couldn't stand up if he had chosen to. Then when his legs were battered and bruised due to Muhammads legs not being conditioned for it Bruce Lee would of taken him down then arm barred the less skilled boxer.

Don't get me wrong Muhammad Ali was possibly the best boxer ever! but Bruce wouldn't have played the boxing game he would have avoided exchanging punches with him at all costs then he would take away Muhammads most usefull weapons; his legs, leaving him defenceless. It would be imbarrassing for Muhammad unless they could only fight according to boxing rules.

You should not forget that Muhammad didn't practice grappling or mixed martial arts infact he was really just a stand up boxer with amazing footwork skills when fighting under boxing rules in the ring. Bruce also studied and practiced Western and Eastern styles of boxing therefore he would know how to counter what few ways of attack the less skilled boxer used.

Ali also knew TKD so he would know how to defend against the kicks.

What alot of people dont know is that Ali was in a way a pioneer of sorts of Mixed martial arts in the infamous "Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki

albeit was not on the level of todays MMA alot of those shots look pretty rough, hell "Judo" Gene LeBell was the referee!!!! and rumor has it Ali's legs were pretty beat up by all the low kicks by Inoki (man they are some strange looking kicks too! kinda of a drop thigh kick)

                cool link Gonzo.

btw, wasnt Ali one of the reasons Bruce was so interested in boxing ?

                heres some info from bruceleecentral.com

"Although Mohammed Ali and Bruce Lee never had the chance to meet each other, there is irrefutable evidence that Bruce Lee was a great admirer of Ali and was heavily influenced by him. Several close friends and original Bruce Lee students have spoken of how Bruce Lee used to watch tapes of Mohammed Ali fights for countless hours. For example, Leo Fong (an original Bruce Lee student) recently said in interview, " Ali was Bruce's man. He had all of his fights on 8mm and he loved watching the Cleveland Williams fight over and over." Bruce Lee Central has discovered many other instances where close friends, family or students of Bruce Lee have made similar statements. For example, his brother Robert Lee once said in interview, "He (Bruce Lee) did tell me he really respected Muhammad Ali and thought he was a great fighter."

What is unclear however, is the extent to which Mohammed Ali influenced Bruce Lee. Some reports suggest that Bruce Lee was only interested in "borrowing" from Mohammed Ali's hand techniques. However, other reports have suggested that Lee was more interested in emulating Mohammed Ali's footwork."

the site also mentions some of bruce lees other influences, and the old boxer Jack Dempsey was mentioned as well.

Bruce Lee wasn't as big as Ali admitadely but his speed and ability to focus his internal energy explosively, that and the fact his whole body was a weapon (not just his fists) even his fingers, knee's, elbow's and palm strikes say that this is a joke.

Hands down, Ali would make Lee his biatch in a cage(or ring match, MMA rules, not boxing rules to favor Bruce) match, in the street, i still think Ali would win, but for 73h 57r337, its arguable.

Kicking Ali's legs is what Inoki did reather effectlively. And also rather in a horribly boring manner over the course of 15 rounds. But, Inoki was barred from using submissions, wrestling takedowns or suplexes per the rules of the match.

Hey boys and girls, what if Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris were conjoined twins and they had to fight Mr. T and Gamera in outer space? What about that, huh?
