Could someone tell me what the crucifix is...

I know it's been pointed out to me but I can't remember what UFC it was?

    It looked cool though!!

      nah...

My mate showed me this fight in the UFC that finished with this move that would seem to be rare(ish?!).

He seemed surprised when he saw it.

The crucifix was the finishing move...some sort of standing choke- a real classic!!

I thought the crucifix was done on the ground. At least thats the one I was talking about. The guys arms were spread like he was on a cross. Must be talking about something different.

            yeh..

that sound's right..but I just remember it as being upright-

            weird eh:

Just let me know what it is, how it's done and we'll see if it can be done as a "standing submission"!!(how?..someone!!? help!!?)

Or maybe we'll just figure out what vid it's on !

            (?!)

It might take me a while to get those vid's (back) actually...

The way I saw it was, Gary took the guy down the held one arm between his legs and one arm in the crook of his one arm. Then he rained elbows into the guys face. Thats the best I can explain it.

actually the crucifix is a pretty comon position in ground fighting. u can get somene in this position from side control, or wait for him to try to grab one of your legs while he tries to escape from sidecontrol to put him in this position. its a great hold that can lead to alot of attacks like the elbows as well neck breaks.
