I discovered MTM shirts last year. I was never able to find dress shirts that fit. I have ordered many MTM shirts now, including several French cuff shirts from iTailor. I enjoy wearing cufflinks, but the French cuffs seem to not fit very well inside the jacket cuffs. I have noticed that on other people, French cuffs seem to fit perfectly inside the jacket cuff and maintain their horseshoe shape. When I wear them, it seems like there is not enough room in the jacket sleeves/cuffs to accommodate the wider cuffs. I tend to fold over the end with the cufflinks back onto my wrist so that it doesn't get caught up when I put my arms through the sleeves. When the jacket is on, the cuffs tend to either not show at all because they are caught in the sleeve or to show too much cuff because the shirt cuffs sort of "overflow" from the jacket cuffs. I have a number of suits and blazers from a variety of off the rack and MTM brands, so the problem is probably not the jackets. Does it sound like the cuffs are made wrong/too big? If so, is there a way to alter the shirt cuffs to fit?

From your description, it sounds like the cuffs might indeed be a bit too big if they're not fitting well inside the jacket cuffs. You're not alone in wanting that sleek horseshoe look!
Considering you've tried various brands and jackets, maybe some alterations could help. If you're handy or know a good tailor, they might be able to adjust the cuffs for a more seamless fit. And hey, speaking of seamless fits, have you ever considered how well your fitted style might match up with some of the elegant options at Gentleman's Guru wedding tuxedos? Could be a cool idea to explore! Keep rocking those cufflinks, and may your cuffs and jackets find their perfect harmony! From your description, it sounds like the cuffs might indeed be a bit too big if they're not fitting well inside the jacket cuffs.
