steroids are ****ed up man, how ever big you are and how "tough" you are is all fake. im aussie and i reckon me and a few of my normal everday friends who work hard for how big we are would **** you guys up in an instant.
DO NOT go the same way these steroid freaks did it only ends up costing you your dick and your money, whats more important a dick or and extra few inches onjyour arms?

Cons of steroids = you said most of them but
= when you stop weight training your muscle shrink at an unbeleivable rate
= your heart beats faster while you sleep resulting in mild srokes/ heart attacks
= can cause insanity ( from the violent out burtsts)

any one else wanna take the risk? i sure dont

who are these idiots? Steroids?!? Very illegal and retarded. Only people who are at the shit of their career or desperate that they'd risk personal health. To condition strength in punches. You said your technique was great. Probably for a lightweight. You should focus on your wrist and snaps. Weights would be a great idea? 5 pound weights every two months on legs, shoulders, arm etc. Might seem like a little bothersome, but after a few weeks you'll get the feel of them. Oh, also big warning. Do not just put them on your forearms, or you will not get an equal distribution. If your going to focus on your arms: shoulders, biceps, and forearms. Distribute the weight. 2:2:1. Train hard.

I am an idiot? listen, pal, I think you are the idiot for being to scared to try out something that rocks so hard! If you're on the juice, you wouldn't need to use wussy ass 5 pound weights. Hell, I could strap a steer to my back when you feel the surge!
Steroids rizock, people shouldn't be afraid to take short cut on the road of awesome power!

If you want to punch like a man, and not like some kind of school yard sissy girl who is too afraid to hike her skirt up, go through a cycle. After that, go out there and pound a side of beef like Rocky would!

Ok, I just want to put out the facts of steroids in the open and I'm not for or against them:
Whoever says it's the lazy way, should go on them and not work out, then we'll laugh at your fat ass! You have to work out harder and more frequently to get real results!
                    Pros:
                    Gain strength, size, recovery
                    Cons:
have to remain on a strict diet so as to keep gains effective, Gynoclamasia (growth of female tissue) Solution: use and anti-estrogen, shrinkage of your little guy (most people don't know that this is for the most part only until about 2 weeks-2months after the use) it does go away! and Liver disease is the biggest problem...but only if you use pills! As for the legality of it...there are some Anabolics that are legal and all are if you can get the perscription!

Don't bitch at me for being for steroids cuz I think it's all a matter of choice! Thats just the facts so everyone can decide based on the truth!

O.K. there are those that will tout the advantages of certain "nutritional supplements" and the like. I don't wish to engage in any form of debate about their risk/benefit analysis.
If you want to develop punching power (by the way 10 stone is about 140 pound right?) you can do it and remain at your current weight class (which is an awesome division to fight in) you need to do some weight work and add plyometric training to it. Nothing will help you develop the kind of explosive power you are looking for like a strenght/plyometric complex routine. sport specific conditioning drills are good for it too. Things like medicine ball work, swinging an axe or sledgehammer, intervals on the heavy bag, shadow boxing with dumbells etc. There are many good resources out there for this info. Check out RossBoxing.com for a lot of great info on this type of training.
And forget about the other shit...it isn't worth the long term risks or the potential disqualification from using illegal substances...no offense to the other guys on this thread...just the truth.

they did a test about punching power a few years ago in a boxing magazine. (forgot the title)
they took weightlifters, martial artists, amatuers, and pro's from various weight classes, and the results were surprising.
the strongest puncher in the test was actually a middle weight, or possibly cruiser, I don't remember. Anyway, the key to real power is technique. yes, muscles do help, but the 250 pund bodybuilders had relatively weak punches compared to the pro boxers of various weights.
the key is to get your whole body into your punches, and work at making your punches faster and crisper. big muscles will slow you down, I'll take a big gain in speed over a small gain in power anyday.

I have never used steroids and feel I don't need them to become a better martial artist ,however as far as looking good big I would perhaps try them.

First of all I believe for something like bodybuilding that relies on strength and body definition steroids is the easy way out and cheating. But as far as martial arts is concerned steroids doesn't make you a better martial artist.

You can be the toughest and meanest mother fucker on steroids but without skill it means shit.Steroid improves mass and strength but does not improve skill.

If you want to take it then do,if you don't then that's your choice.

To win in most sports these days you have to take roids because most athletes are on it whether they want to admit it or not and in many cases it is very hard if not impossible to come on top naturally when you have others taking steroids. If steroids wasn't so popular in sport then no one would really need it to come on top, because everything would be done fairly and it would be possible to be number one without the steroids which would be great but to actually think it is possible when so many are cheating by taking roids then you're dreaming. When it comes down to it sadly to say you might as well cheat against someone you know you would have been better against had your partner not taken steroids.

When I talk about steroids and cheating in competition I am talking about sports that rely specifically on strength, endurance not skill although all sports have some skill to them.

For example in UFC all those guys are more less equally strong and why is that? Because most if not all are on steroids, yet some are better fighters then others.Gracie who when you look at was obviously not on roids but he always beat the guys who most likely are on steroids, which shows not everyone is going to be equally good fighter when on steroids. The strength part for punching does help though when you are on roids but once taken to the ground by a skillful natural fighter you are screwed despite juicing it up.

If steroids makes you a better fighter then that means a person on juice with no martial arts training would kick ass on martial arts person that fights naturally.I really doubt this would be the case.

Conclusion steroids is great short cut for strength, power and body defintion but can't help you cheat in skill. So what really is the big deal of someone taking steroids for looking good or wanting to be stronger? It's their body.Besides haven't you martial artists learnt winning a fight is all about technique, right mentality, reaction time, speed, and power not strength although it might help a little bit.

I am in no way condoning, suggesting or disagreeing either with the use of steroids,I am just giving my opinion. It's your choice if you want to take it or not.Just be sure to make the right choice for yourself and if you choose to use steroids know what you are doing and be careful and aware of both the pros and cons that go along with steroid use.
