WC Biffo? That'd be this clip?

Yep, padded up WC with contact without an emphasis on injury free (though they're not using bare knuckle like the Kyokushin boys - not that the Kyokushin fighters tend to use hand techniques to the head in most of the tournaments I've seen or been in), nothing new there. Obviously there is a perception that WC just hit the air and do dbl chi sau out there?

Most of the WC schools I know teach ground fighting, or the students cross train. Whoooppeee do da dee. Just like my BJJ pals god bless em' (that would be Brazilian Ju Jitsu not Butt Jabb Jitsu) tend to do a striking style to supplement their fighting.

Go easy on the generalising guys. Having said that Thai Bri does entertain me, I know you mean well TB

My bad... it was Extreme Fighting 1 (EF1) it occurred in 1995 and the Wing Chun Fighter was Harold German. It took Igor all of 40 seconds to win the fight.

There was another Wing Chun vs. Grappler match years ago... 95 or 96. It was some Wing Chun guy vs. Igor Zinoviev... I think it took place at the ICC (International Combat Championships). That Wing Chun master also did an incredible job of guarding his style's secrets by letting Igor take him to the ground and systematically pound the crap out of him.

sigh even the grappler didn't satisfy me, he was so slow, especially when entering the mount. And I thought it was foolish to double leg so fast. but the Ving tsun guy well, i'd rather do it against a dummy since it wont move either except i can keep pounding it afterwards without getting stopped.

maybe that was new "sticky bobbing head" technique. Seeing the punches as they are landed will help with defense

Looking at it again the Master of Almightiness also demonstrated the Way of the Bouncing Head. He bounced it all over the canvass, coincidentally in time with his opponents punches.

Now, where are those guys who tell us that Sticky Handsie Chi Sao stuff would come in usefull here?

    This will be good!

And the other guy must have cheated. I mean, Wing Chun does have all this anti grappling. Has had it since it's inception in fact, but chose to keep it super secret until after the UFCs came about.

And, even then, kept it secret. To this date they have never shown it to a committed and trained grappling opponent! Haw haw haw!

started a topic The Power of Ving Tsun

    The Power of Ving Tsun

Guys, regulars here know of my disdain for the Wing Chun Wing Tsun Ving Tsun etc. nonsense out there. All the theoretical nonsense that "proves" one person can beat another, but never actually does it in real life.

After viewing this clip I have had to change my mind. I hereby apologies to the like of Tameo and all the others who told me how wrong I was by pointing to their "factual" accounts of secret roof top fights that never took place.

No I said. Show me Wing Chun in ht eMMA areana.

Well, here it is. I was wrong. I am humbled. I bow to the memory (and mammry) of Ng Mui.

Working...
