Awareness training, common sense, and a strong presentation of confidence can keep you out of trouble
I totaly agree with that ...
and I think it also depends on the assault

Look up Dragonskin. I saw an episode of Futureweapons on Discovery and they had it on the show. The stuff is so well build that it actually stopped all penetration from a fragmentation grenade (yes, this was only for show). The point is this could be the future of body armor as we know it.

[QUOTE=Nutz;257070]Why oh why do people still think its a good thing to blur out stuff in their videos? Do they think that because they're hiding the technique that people will want to know what they're doing even more? Puhleez, get a grip already...

it's blurred to not show the technique. the dog catcher is an innovation by guro marc, and guro marc is in the BUSINESS of martial arts. by showing this technique in the preview it would not only give away the meat of the DVD it would've opened the flood gates for others to say '' we have that too'' or something along those lines.

Too many people now-a-days look at MMA as a true defense against a knife; "I'll just take them down." This is foolish in itself to the point that it makes me nauseous. Other than the crap I mention above, the vids are alright. They seems to have a firm grasp of the realities of combat with edged weapons.

Wow, thank you. This really opens up my eyes and many other's eyes. I think learning the realistics of fights is exactly what we should do. Most martial arts instructors dont train for a realistic street fight or knife fight, they just train for certain scenarios.

Thanks for the post Nutz...I have seen those pics before and that video does a good job of driving home the point thanks for the post.

Also, you might want to try and get a copy of "Survivng Edged Weapons" if you can find it anywhere. I have an old copy but the quality is not to good all the time but it has Dan Inosanto, Edgar Sulite and other Kali men in it. It has alot of scenario training that Dan and them used for training the different police departments. Good stuff if you can get it.

    Thanks again

    however it can be said

that training in knife techniques and disarment is better than not having any training or experience at all,

    but yeah,

don't ever take on a guy with a knife!
