Anyone own or work at a personal training studio? Thinking of opening one...

    Personal Training

Hello, I am in the beginning stages of blending Fitness, Martial Arts and Mixed Sports.

My thoughts are to offer Group Class' Private Training and Competition Teams as my venues.

I want to eventually develop enough clients to only do Private Training and hire others to run the Class' and events.

I teach both a regular class and personal training.

I charge different for each. For a regular class I charge $35 per month, and for personal training it's $55 per month.

I run a jjj dojo in my basement. I charge by the visit. Pay as you go. I offer weights, bag training, and Qualified instruction in JJJ{certified by the AJA}. I love what I do and I have 3 regular paying students right now. I've also done a ton of charity work with kids and teenagers.

I knew a BJJ teaching in Boston who did that. He was also a MMA champ for the Northeast at that time. He got paid to roll and submit his students and occasionally offer them clues. Not a bad job. People lined up after fights to contact him and he rented space from a fitness center. He charged something like 50 bucks an hour.

yes, about 1/3 of my student train by private training. this keepts me from having to enroll little kids.

private students are more dedicated, and they work harder (most of them) than the regular students, and they are willing to lots more and thats always good.
