what do the folks on defend.net think of Chris Eubanks??

    like him?
    hate him?

and what do you think of his quite different style re the footwork?

I love the man and he is one of my all time favorite boxers, also quite a character.....

He's certainly a character. I feel sorry for him really. He's always trying to appear clever and wants so much to be respected. He fails mostly, and cuts a sad figure.

But he has a great family and plenty dosh, so why should I get upset for him?

He's made a couple of mistakes in his life, but who hasn't?

I prefer him to Nigel Benn. That guy is just a shit head.

      Thai Bri,
yes m8 you are right on the whole, i think this stems largely from his complex about not being educated (he frequently makes this remark).
Did you see "At Home With The Eubanks" on chan5 recently?, it was very enjoyable and yes he does have a lovely family.

Yes it is a bit sad what you say but he is no complete fool, there is a brain in there and i do like the guy on the whole from what i can tell.
I found his particular style of boxing very good to watch..

For some reason I am very fond of him and also Frank Bruno, 2 great contributions to the sport and to the UK imho..

I don't like Bruno. Not one bit. His carefully constructed "Look at what a nice guy I am" image is bull shit in my view.

A few years ago (during a "comeback) he showed his true colours. Fighting losers, and even hitting them while they were down. I've sen him do a couple of interviews where he was very rude and aggressive to people, shouting them down and being intimidating.

He has beaten the crap out of his wife (what a brave man) and I reckon that this latest bout of so called "mental illness" is merely him being a twat, fucking up his life through bad behaviour.

But against real class opposition he folds. The first time he fought Tyson (and Tyson was at his prime) Frank actually rocked him bad. But he hadn't the courage to keep at him. He fought like a man thinking "I won'y hit you too hard, just go easy on me".

He has a special place in the hearts of the nation. How the masses can be duped.

Do you remember Spitting Image? They had those amazingly real puppets that looked like celebrities, and then took the piss out of them.

In one sketch they had Chris Eubanks replacing Frank Bruno ina conversation with Harry Carpenter. Bruno used to say "Naw what I mean, 'Arry? all the time. But Eubanks, being as pretentious as he is, kept saying "does one know what the essence is of what I am trying to convey, Harold?".

About as funny as shit here, but the sketch had me rolling about laughing.

            I'll get my coat.

can't remember that sketch exactly but vaguely rings a bell, but spitting image was GREAT, i guess its no longer shown in this terribly politically correct era in which the uK is truly swamped.
              Great show that.
              regards

They just ran out of ideas. Rather than real political satire it became just a collection of celebrities in stupid situations. But, in its day, it was supreme.
