First of all forgive me for the long winded post.
Ok I have been going to a gym and have been training for boxing sporadically for about 3 months. Now I'm at a point with my daily work schedule where i can bang out an hour and a half 4 nights a week and an hour on 2 other nights. Im not fat but i do have the beginings of a beer belly. Im 5'11" and weigh 220. I have always been pretty athletic but i want to box in actual fights by this upcoming summer. I have done some reading ( ALOT ) in this forum and have learned alot but now I need some help.
This is the routine that i have developed and have been following since the begining of this month:I eat at small meals, almost snacks at 7 am, 9am, 1030am, 1230pm, 2pm, 5pm, also when Im leaving the gym at 830pm I'll eat a piece of fruit or 2. I only eat oatmeal, fruit, chicken breast, rice, alot of veggies, eggs, steak, jerky, and an occasional granola bar( they say that diet is 90% of your fitness). Monday, Wednesday and Fridays I jog for 30 min, do some small sets of weights, do a killer ab work out,and shadow box and hit the double-ended bag for a few rounds. Tuesday and Thursday I 1/2 run 1/2 skip rope for 30 min and do heavy weights and either trian with focus mitts( for as long as i can ) or do heavy bag work.
Now what I'd like to know is if I'm on the right track or what? I love being in there and have my music on my MP3 player as i jog ( the Rocky4 soundtrack, VERY inspiring) and I want it bad. This is something that I will not give up on. So whoever knows more about begginers training please hit me up, I dont want to be doing it all wrong.
