  • Russian Boxing.

I wonder if any of you practice russian fisticuffs? I heard about a slavonic boxing system called borba. Does somebody have information on this topic, a.o. where it is practiced in Russia or links to organisations?

    Cheers.

    "Barba Sambo System"

    Training program:
Sambo Borba (Grappling) - grappling + strikes grappling
(throws and overthrows), strikes, fight in "parterre" using
joint locks (brakes), suffocations, caches and strikes.

    Mondays 18.30-20.00
    Wednesdays 18.30-20.00
Cost of the training - 100 zł per month
We offer extra trainings for advanced fighters .

    Borba Sambo ( grappling ):
Borba is, similarly like Muay Thai in Thailand, national sport in most countries of former USSR. In Europe and USA grappling fascination began after the first tournament of combined martial arts. Sportsmen using grappling were better then sportsmen using only strikes. Grappling improves strength and stamina. What's more, it's less dangerous because people training grappling don't get as many strikes to head as boxers. It's also complete self-defence martial art.

      Thanks HtTKar,

I've once seen russian boxing, it looked like western boxing but with added strikes, among other casting type punches.
