What is a good game plan against a speed demon or a slugger? I always see these guys come into the ring (even in NHB events) and just throw an ass-load of punches uncontrollably and unskillfully. Do you just shell up and rope-a-dope him? Whats a good game plan?

Does twt in your name reflect traditional wing tsun? The reason I ask is because I'd imagine you'd have some kind of respons for that.
Keep your chin tucked, your shoulder covering your jaw, your hands up, head moving and don't back up. Move side ways and try to get an angle on him.
Punch him while he's trying to punch you or throw some leg kicks to slow him down and earn his respect, then start aiming upstairs.
Does anyone else have a response?

i recently fought a slugger last weekend in a fight, amatuer it was my 3rd fight and the guy weighted quite a bit more than me. My second fight was a massive slug and i just stood there and slugged back, not a good idea causes alot of bloodshed, but my tatic for him was to hit and then duck and slide out, hit him and then jump out when he returns punches and then in and out. My thrid fight went alot better. I danced around the rings in circles, the sluggers usually dont throw alot of complex good combos usually just straight punches so watch for those and throw fast punches and if you see him flinch or get dizy jump on him and throw everything you got and then move back out and move in circles giving you the side to throw your punches from. Just my young begginer boxing two cents.

Hey, thanks a lot southpaw. Thats good advice. If I can learn to switch and phase in the opposite direction fast enough, then theyll probably get confused too. It will take away from their game plan nonetheless. I guess that its time to work on my footwork.
