Bottom line...Unless youre really good, get another job.

Originally posted by Mike BrewerBeing a pro is almost impossible as an only job. On average, you'll only make $100-$200 per round in your first several fights, and you lose around half of that in trainer's fees, manager's fees, and gym dues. You can turn pro at 18, but in all likelihood, it won't be a feasible "only job" until you're well recognized and ranked.
Mike how much does weight class matter in this early stage interm of pay (or is teh the $100-200).

Get involved in a good Organisation
What type of Ma do you want to fight in? Stand-up etc. Yeah these guys are right in terms of how many fights you get, and money. I have fought in amatuer Boxing, Stand-up and MMa for 6years and turned pro in Jan05. I have only had 3MMa and 3KB(full-con), the first fight I got £300(wich was the 100bonus for winning) and the next I won and got 1000. Then you get a good following. Then next I got beat and got 750.. So win or loose, its how big your following are. I would recomentd working part-time, working out the rest of the time. I do 1 fight a month at the moment. Another thing is that many tournies you dont get paid unless you win. I am doing the Brittish in dec, but I will get jack unless I win. I get a title and 2500 if I win. Still not great, but I enjoy doing it. Find a good amatuer org for your compition, and they will progress you through. Not everyone likes the constant diet checking and painstraking trainig regime.
