Do you guys have any strong views on which supplements are best for boxers. Right now i'm taking whey protein after my training, and taking multi-vitamins in the morning. I'm thinking of taking creatine and BCAA (amino acid) supplements as well but am concerned about any potential long-term risk to the liver, kidney etc. As this stuff hasn't been on the market for decades, just wondering if there is long-term or short term risk from this stuff? also, if anyone recommends other supplements, please let me know.

I've been training in boxing for almost two months now so am quite new to it. Do it about 4-5 days a week, depending on my work schedule. Also I do weight training about 3-4 days a week. Right now my two biggest problems are my endurance and explosive energy are very low, and I can't seem to bulk up at all. Not looking to get huge, but at least bigger than I am now (I'm 6'3" and weight about 188lbs, but my body fat is quite high at almost 18%). I don't want to gain or loose weight, just want more muscle. I heard creatine is good for recovery, and BCAA helps one increase muscle faster, but as I say, I don't want to mess up my liver or kidneys. I want to stay in the heavy-weight range but be very explosive and quick, yet also have the power behind the stikes. At the moment, I fatigue very quickly and weight-training leaves me very stiff, which is hurting my boxing because my movement becomes very stiff. So am looking for something that will give me endurance, that is safe, and that will allow me to gain muscle (not weight), without sacrificing finesse when boxing - not sure if i'm asking for too much here. I try to stretch more so that I'm less stiff after weight-training. How does one get the power of Foreman, with the speed of Ali...is that doable? Or at least I want to condition myself with that goal in mind.

Sorry dude, but what youre asking is pretty crazy. Muscle weighs more then fat. So youd have to gain a little. Also, fat slows you down!
It sounds like your looking for something to help your endurance, Id say ummm cardio work? Cut back on the weights a bit and try some running. Theres no miracle supplement to help that. Supplements only help, if you take creatine you better train hard cause if not youll just waste it.
Also, boxers, train on heavy bags a lot. That builds power. They run a lot and weight train. My best advice is to get a book on boxing and boxing fitness.
