Hey, so I picked up an everlast leather double end bag for $27 today (Same price as the speedbag). Now my problem lies in actually mounting it. I got two metal brackets, that I guess I'm supposed to bolt into the ground and ceiling. I'm putting this in my barn/home gym. It has high ceiling but has rafters and such I could connect it to. Now, do I have to drill into the concrete, or what? How did you guys mount yours?

I just used parachute cord, a plastic weight plate, bungee cords and some time of screwdriver type device to fit under the weight plate. No drilling necessary.Originally posted by SasquatchHey, so I picked up an everlast leather double end bag for $27 today (Same price as the speedbag). Now my problem lies in actually mounting it. No problem--my students call me Coach.Originally posted by SasquatchThanks for helping me realize how dumb I am hardball
I'll just tie it to a weight and tie the top to one of the rafters. Can't believe I didn't just think of that, but no harm no foul. Thanks

If you get interchangable bungie cords you can change the tempo of the bag to help develop your timing.Originally posted by SasquatchHa, thanks Coach

It's easier to hook the elastic to the plates (weight) on the floor. The plate has a whole in the center and your elastic cord should have a hook on the end. Run the hook through the hole in the weight plate and then run a screw driver through the hook. When it's right the screwdriver will be underneath of the weight plate.Originally posted by SasquatchWell the one that came with, one was elastic, and the other one was just like a cord, with no elasticity. Do you use the cord on to tie it to the floor, and the elastic one hangs from the ceiling?

You will probably need extra rope or parachute cord................depending on the height of the room. Yep, the elastic cord on the bottom or substitue bungee cords for more bounce around action.Originally posted by SasquatchI have it figured how I am going to secure it, but you're saying the elastic one should be on bottom? I got one elastic one, one more like a rope.

Enjoy they are fun................According to legend; the Great Bill Wallace used to hit speed bags and timing bags with his foot.Originally posted by SasquatchMounted it today. It was exactly what was lacking from my training: Head movement. Slipping, ducking, amen. Now my footwork needs a bit of work...

The way I hooked up mine, is on the top I used clothing line rope and on the bottum I used the bungy coard that came with it. How I hooked up the bottum, I used part of a hasp and put on a 8 inch long chain from a little dog chain and hooked it up to the hasp and run the chain threw a 50 lbs weight. But, I did put electrical tap were I spliced the the chain on.
