    Hey guys,

I'm a radio broadcaster by trade, big fight fan, and martial artist. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on pursuing ring announcer gigs.

I live in mid-Missouri so would be looking for jobs in St. Louis, KC, or anywhere in between.

I've tried a few searches to see how Michael Buffer got his start but came up empty. Any help is appreciated.

for Missouri, id say get hooked up with the PKA. Get a hold of a official there. The PKA nationals is usually held in Kansas City. But, you can also start in as a announcer and official for USA Boxing. That'll get you some experience. But not much if any, money in the amateur rankings. But , getting your foot in the door is the main thing. Pass around a business card at each event. When you start being a announcer for the pro's, for boxing you have to pay for your licensing and go to a siminar. For pro kickboxing meet, i'm not for sure. But getting hooked up with PKA and ISKA is a way i'd go.

Awesome!! Thanks for the advice. I was the ring announcer for one amateur
kickboxing event and plan on making a demo tape out of it. Thanks again.
