Received a PM a few years back from a troll who said he/she/it was going to find where I live and kill me.

Which might actually be scary if this wasn't the internet. There are a couple of local boards that I post on to promote my volunteer work, and because a lot of the posters are my friends in the real world. A while ago some kid got on there and told me was going to kick my ass. We were introduced to each other a week or two afterwards and the look on his face was priceless when he realized who I was... all of a sudden he got REAL polite and friendly It's amazing what some people will say to you when you're just a screen name on their monitor.

I try to extend courtesy to everyone I've met online (click on my history). You'll see that I usually bend over backward to get to know folks as I would in real life. Sometimes my humor gets into the PG-13 level or higher, but I try to keep it decent.

well at least you don't have to worry about her treating you like a piece of meat and disrespecting you in the morning ... in all honesty she's probably just one of those gals that want the Tallest, wealthiest man with a great career and a huge penis... I'd still take threats somewhat seriously. Never hurts to be prepaired or be ready.

Absolutely! Better safe than sorry. It was pretty obvious when I met this guy that he was a basically good guy that just put his foot in his mouth on the internet because he's still very young though. Last night I got to spar with one of our amatuers- a guy that's looking to turn pro some time soon. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot- with the exception of my previous teachers he's far and away the fastest guy I've ever worked with. It's always great to get a chance to work with someone that has you outclassed that way because it really shows you what you need to focus on. One point that has been made loud and clear to me is that I need to work on my foot work big time.

That's awesome Sag, how did you fare as far as him landing punches and you landing punches?

Well, he was in there to teach me so a lot of it was him showing me when I was leaving myself open, or when he could easily put me off balance or showing me where he was vulnerable. I landed lots of shots, and was able to stop his shots once I picked up on what was going on but he was making it a point to let me succeed whenever I learned the lesson he was trying to teach. I think I did extremely well because I learned a lot, but the reason I learned so much is that I was working with someone that was a lot better than me. I still have a tendency to crowd my punches, which is a direct result of the fact that I've been taught to use punches to set up throws and take downs that (naturally) have no place in boxing. That's probably the biggest adjustment that I've had to make so far.
