Which one is more socially alienating as an activity, chess or boxing? Geek vs. Meathead...both stereotypes suck nuts...but a meat-head geek...****, son...that's a pitiful beast.
I was being sarcastic...7's and 11's is street dice.
you win by throwing a 7 or an 11.
throw doubles and you get to go again.
throw doubles 3 times over the course of the game and you lose
snake eyes you lose.
it's a luck game, there are no strategies for it, unless you can figure out a way to cheat the dice.

As an undergrad I played a lot of Go. I played against a buddy of mine and I'd beat him by 30 stones, then he'd beat me by 30 stones, then I'd beat him by 30 and so on. Then a relative of mine introduced me to the president of the local Go association, who invited me to play at the Chinese cultural centre. There I got completely destroyed. The players there actually had rank - they have kyu and dan ranking based on tournament performance. I've been totally in awe of skilled Go players ever since, although I haven't played much in the past five years or so.

I only recently discovered Go and I can tell I'm going to become addicted. I suck at chess and need to learn better strategy, and there's a Go club in my town. WOOT!
