The fight was garbage, just as I thought it would be. He was put in there as cannon fodder for Klitschko. He never even tried to launch a real offensive attack. Oh well. Such is the heavyweight division.

I saw the fight, Klitz arms are too damn long. The left hook was real and he followed with about 4 more left hooks. With "Manny Stewart" in his corner he will go a long way. Now the controversy is, his brother coming back to the heavyweight division.. Would you fight your own brother if the price was right?

        They wont fight each other.

By the way their dream is to share all the titles. And get into history like the only two brothers that got all the titles shared . Which will happen

        LOL

Yeah it will happen ONLY because the the state of the heavyweight division is probably at its worst. None of the great fighters are at their prime. None of the younger fighters show the promise of a Tyson, a Lewis or a Holyfield.

The young guys who used to get in the boxing gyms are turning to basketball, football and baseball ... sports you can become millionaires in without getting your face punched in.

With all the money that King and Arum make, it would be in their best interest to encourage youth to take up boxing. They should build more boxing gyms in urban areas. There should be more after school programs for boxing students. There should be money incentives for poor families to get their kids involved. We're talking about a billion dollar sport. The framework makes no sense to me.

But this isn't the first time that this has happened. Before Tyson came, there was a huge void to be filled in the heavyweight division. Boxing panicked then, and a champion emerged. Same here.

Don King knows that a white face sells more tickets that a darker one unless it Mike Tyson or DLH. So, he's pimping the Klitschko's now until he can get his talons into someone else's skin. Its called "Riding the gravy train".

I never said big champs were better.

Yes it would be better if Wladimir fought stronger opponents.

He's already been knocked out by Ross Purity, Corey Sanders and Lamon Brewster. I don't think he'd do too well if there was a heavy hitter in his prime available.

And I don't have to live with that. That's why boxing has more than one division. The lower divisions have had better fights since Mike Tyson went to prison. The smaller guys command more money than the bigger guys now.

Dont take it too serious uke.

You stil have to give Klitschko a credit. He made a lot beter after Stewart trains him. It was seen after Klitschko/Sammy fight.

Also it's partly because we live in a society that condemns any time of violence. Children are taught in grade school that if a bully bothers them they can not punch the bully out because that is violence. Go Figure.

I don't think so. Boxing has been an American pastime as long as baseball. Maybe even before. People don't go into boxing as much anymore because people would rather pitch, catch, dribble, or slam dunk than get punched in the face. They make more money doing it too. Only upper echelon boxers make the really big bucks. And people who box are usually from poor communities.

You won't see too many competitive boxers coming out of gated communities.

I do see what you're saying Hardball, but I know that its not true as it pertains to boxing.
