This guy has some soul searching to do. After having lost to Castillio and now Clottey, his future is looking real iffy. He came in looking overweight and out of shape. That's the first sign of a fighter on his way out. And Diego is no James Toney who can gain that kind of weight and still bang with the rest of them.
Then again, I don't want to take anything away from Joshua Clottey's performance. Clottey, in my opinion, is very underrated. He gave Margarito all the fight that he could handle, and in some eyes exposed him. He came into this fight and used his impressive speed and accuracy to pick apart Corrales. He's definitely got the tools, but could use some help with getting better game plans. Sometimes it seems that he's just out there willing to bang instead of being strategic.
Either way, Clottey is a damn good boxer who deserves some more attention. He's earned it. Corrales on the other hand, while having such highs and lows in his career, has to decide whether he's going to put in the hard work required to come in the ring in shape. There's no excuse for being out of shape at this level of the game. I hope that he can get it together in time to do great things.
As it is, there is speculation that because of the fight that Clottey was able to put up against Corrales, Diego's camp is considering going down to 140.
This is just a rumor from what I understand, but not a bad idea. I'd LOVE to see Diego fight Hatton and Vivian Harris.
