I would hope that Ryan did not mean what people are reading into his statement.
Of course I don't/didn't mean what this pair seems to think I am saying. Written by me: "The honor exists in protecting yourself and your loved ones, not dying because you were too set in your ways to understand real life and do what was needed." Nowhere did I suggests hurting innocents, being overtly cruel, or anything of the sort. I have no idea why what is likely a pair of 15 year olds are arguing with me.

People often mistake the concept of honor with that of fair play.
That was my problem with the previous posts.

These rules [that govern fair play] have no place in combat.
Exactly. Thank you for articulating for them what I was getting at.

Just for the record, I'm actually 16 years of age, very close to seventeen, and I'm not arguing with you.

I'm simply tossing in my two cents, and trying my best to be open minded and learn from what you and others have to say. Afterall, that is why I am participating in this forum.

      Peace,
      Sei

there is no point fighting to certain rules whatever when someone is trying to hurt you.

queensberry is over, your attacker isnt gonna fight fair if theyre after your wallet, they could use anything at their desposal to make sure they win, you got to play their game. if your attacker fights dirty, fight dirtier.
i read this book by geoff T and it had some interview with a streetmugger fighter guy.
He played fair with this guy who he had argued with previously, trying to take down his awarness by acting in a non aggresive and polite way. he approached him apologetically, and offered to shake hands with this guy and make up. the other guy accepting the apology was lured into the muggers trap and he shook his hand, so the mugger pulled this guy towards him and shoved a glass in his gut.

To you when you throw them and they bounce off your attacker's clothes and you get socked good. Try playing the game straight so you don't get accused of cheating and have the need to defend yourself with the ace of spades. Unless you are the X-man known as Gambit?

well if you really practice at it you can have sharpshooter aim with them from like 100 feet away, some people who are pros at it use metal cards once in a while ****ing around and basically tear through water melons. The style is like old ninjutsu when they throw those things except its practical and unexpected. Plus they could go through clothes =P

Life is not a Kung Fu movie. Try something that has a chance of working.

Ok, Tex. I know a belt can hurt. But when are you going to have the time to take it off and whip somebody with it? Not likely, unless you are the one committing the assault. And, no, cards do not work well as weapons.

A metal belt will work in an escalation type fight, where you have time to pull. But in a robbery or random, psycho assualt its useless.

You're not looking at it like I am, you think if i just throw a random guy a belt like that he could defend himself in a lot of situations? I'm talking about someone who's trained with it for a long time and has learned to use it many different ways, throw a guy a sword when hes against a gang and he wouldnt know what to do, throw it to a guy whos been fighting with swords for 10 years and people will die. And it takes like half a second to take it out by the way, about the same time as a gun or a blade, and cards can be good weapons you dont know what youre talking about, imagine cutting peoples faces open from 50 feet away.

Yeah. Imagine is the operative word. Imagine that you had perfect accuracy and that wind and environmental factors didn't exist. Imagine that assaults actually start from 50 feet away. Imagine people didn't move when you threw something at them. Imagine that you had some real world experience. Imagine that you had a brain. Imagine...

                          You, sir, are a moron.

your a ****ing idiot, if you dont know anything about it then dont speak. Its true it cant be done well in wind, and btw they fly as fast as cars if the persons really good and you can throw a few at a time or in fast sequence, youre just ignorant, btw with metal cards wind isnt much of a factor and they can go up to 50 or 60 miles an hour. its like throwing knives so just shut up.
