  • symmetrical drills?

I've found a few drills online that suggest practicing the mirror of every routine as well. Is this important? I've been studying boxing for a few months and hardly even practice a rear hook.

Also, do people practice both left- and right-handed stances? I'm left-handed and so far I've used the southpaw stance exclusively.

    Thanks

Where I learned to box, we didn't practice left and right stance techniques. And I'm not aware of any gyms that do this either, but I could be wrong. But it's hard enough to learn to box from one stance, let alone trying to do both. However, if you can effectively box orthodox and unothodox, by all means — go for it!

In TKD, I learned to switch stances frequently so I'm sort of accustomed to performing techniques from both positions. Myself, I normally train in an orthodox stance (left foot forward).
