Yeah, great idea. Let me call and try to sound like a squeaky-voiced teenager like yourself and ask "gee, do you guys teach how to break bones 'n stuff? do ya? do ya? I want to spend my money on a school where I can learn that cool stuff!"

and they might say: "Uh, well, ...Yes! Yes we do! Just bring a check to the van down by the river...uh, I mean my 'dojo' and we'll set ya right up!"

I have not checked out every instructor. But, by the same token, I have not found any instructors making claims like this. I've also seen, known and fought alot of martial artists. None of them claim these super skills.

Scientifically speaking, you're full of shit. But I'm not sure you know it.

scientificaly you must be the dumbist shit on the face of the planet to make a call like that...

look dipshit go into the emrgency ward of a hospital and ask how many people are admited with broken bones caused in a fight with some pub clown

then factor that if the local idiot thug guy down the road is able to break bones without aiming to would it realy be hard if you where actualy trained how to

Firstly, if you are going to call somebody the "dumbist", it might be an idea to spell "dumbest" correctly.

Secondly, I have been into Accident and Emergency Departments hundreds of times. And by far the most common broken bone was to the hand of the person performing the punch.

Maybe you can break bones as easily as you claim, but they are the bones in your own hands.

PS - Leave the goat alone.

the guy (begins) only asked for some comments about maybe learning WC, did it ever occur to any of you that he might not have the time to do searches for topics or whatever or maybe its because he doesn't have a boring/mundane job and therefore the time during his working day to spend so long in here..
                    that sums it up...

lol, about 10 minutes ago i come on the forum to see the replies to this thread...

i wonder if any of you know of Frued, if not, look into him, the egos you guys build up compinsate for alot...

as for the WC alot of what u all said was helpful, and last week i did join a kung fu class so im already involved. The SiFu is great, nice guy, and i have a freind of mine who joined at the same time so the foundation and practice will be done very often.

but n e ways, u guys keep this up, cuz from my perspective its very comical

Yes. But rarely are these breaks caused by punches. In the real world of real fights, people hit each other with all manner of unpleasant household items. Very unsportsmanlike.

Heres my take on bone breaking whilst unarmed.

Head - a hard shot may crack a cheek bone. Rare. Noses go, but so what? It wouldn't stop me. A good shot on the jaw, if it is open and fairly relaxed, may cause a break at the mandible joint. But this is rare. The rest of the head? Forget it.

Neck - cranks may do it, if you're strong, and he isn't.

Collar bone - Never seen one broken due to a strike (though falling has broken a few). I understand that a good, solid hammer fist or axe hand, in the right spot, might break it. There are lots of people who reckon it only takes a few pounds of pressure to do so. I doubt it.

Shoulder - locks only, not strikes.

Chest / sternum - use a hammer. Or kick them as hard as you can. If it doesn't break anything, claim to have been holding back.

Arms - from locks only. Not strikes. And definitely not the silly grabbing oncoming punches and pressing against the elbows. That only works against compliant training partners.

Ribs - A good knee or an excellent uppercut can crack the floating ribs. But the guy will keep on coming. You may puncture a lung, if youre lucky and like prison food.

Hips - Nope. You'll break your own leg. Ask retired.

Legs - A lucky kick to a straight knee might do it. Emphasis on "lucky" and "straight". Thighs? Naw. Shins? Doubt it, but it will hurt 'em. Instep? Possibly crack a little bone if you stomp hard enough.

So, of course the human body can break. But it is mostly on the joints, and via grappling. Any submission move will do it, if you know how and are strong. Any supposed Wing Chum submission move isn't Wing Chun at all, its just latching onto the grappling wave in a most disrespectful manner.

And these breaks from striking are very very rare. You don't see them in boxing, kick boxing, thai boxing, No Holds Barred/MMA fights.

You prattle on as if these breaks are their for the taking. They are not. This is especially galling from a guy who does Wing Chun, which is certainly not known for its powerful striking.

You have the ignorant arrogance of a man who has never been on the receiving end of a hardened street fighter who is trying to eat your face. You may well be in for a rude awakening some day.

He certainly is, and I try to be as well. However, there are limits to our patience, and they have been reached. This thread is now closed.

                                Bri,
Excellent post on body targets, by the way.

                                Tai-gip,
You come across as both ignorant and arrogant. Go break bones somewhere else--save everyone the trouble of correcting your nonsense.
