at this other forum these people say that when the Shaolin temple was burned down no techniques and manuscripts were lost. Although I have heard through numerous books and documentaries that techniques have been lost(just think about the temple was burned down when they were sleeping and they had no time to hide the manuscripts with techniques and the only five that escaped were only intermediat students that had not learned the whole curriculum) does anyone have anyone have a source like a website saying this is true?

Sorry,
Don't have any websites or much info just that Shaolin has it's share of ups and downs in terms of students. I guess in bad times, if there aren't enough disciples to practise all the arts, some of it gets forgotten or falls through the cracks. Just a guess though...
Cheers

Those people from the other forum are right, the techniques and manuscripts weren't lost, the survivers knew exactly where they were, and that was, burnt under a pile of debris.
