'bat' is probably Cantonese for 'ba' which means eight.
      'gua' means divinations.

"ba gua" (bah-1st tone 'high', gua-4th tone 'falling' - means eight divinations.

kan gong fu dianying cai neng mingbai zhongwen ah!

Bagua is an internal art often taught with xing yi and tai ji. That's all I know.

Thanks. I know the art is internal. I am looking for information of the specific method of Chung Sam Feng from the Mou Tang school or sect?

There is no correct way to spell in English the translations from Chinese. So even Ba Gua may not be understood by the Chinese. It is the sound that denotes its spelling in English. Thanks for your information gentlemen.

Actually there are 2 ways - wade-giles system and pinyin

Wade-Giles is easy for westerners to understand and pronounce, but difficult for chinese to understand. ex bah-gwah, kung fu

Pinyin takes time to learn correctly, but is the closest approximation to correct chinese pronounciation. ex ba gua, gong fu

If you just ask someone on the street if they know about ba gua and your language skills are crude, they won't understand you but if you reference it as a type of 'wu shu' they will know what you're getting at
