  • This Gentleman called Thai Bri has been misinformed

    Dear Mr. Thai Bri

I respect you as a good fighter and a great warrior. But please do not put
down kungfu as it is old and has such a large traditional emphasis that goes
back to the dawn of time

Kungfu is a way of not just learning to defend oneself but to become a
better person in all walks of life. Both spiritually and mentally it allows
one to transcend to higher levels and learn how to deal with a confrontation
with out the use of physical force.

Let me ask you this question. A thai boxer recieved crushed bones and problem
with joints by the time he is 25 years old. Now I ask you how old are the
great wushu/wingchun masters who have iron shirt iron hand yet they live
    till 80 years old ?

Why because they have become 'immortals' they have drunk he elixir of youth
they have crossed the barriers of time and space and are peace with themselves.

Does it not make u gape in aw when u see an elderly wing chum man take on
a thai boxer and deflect his every punch whilst he smiles and the thai boxer
growls and sweats pours from his forehead as he becomes more and more frustrated

so please have respect for our kungfu brothers.

This guy is a troll, and a poor one.

We have far better trolls on here, and some are even world class!

Get better holyma. You are not scoring at the moment.

I'll admit what that guy said was pretty gay, but I haven't really seen Wing Chun used like at all in MMA, mostly just other Wing Chun tournaments. I'd actually like to see some of this because I want to see how these guys fight in the ring cause I'd love to see more join UFC or something like that.

We'd all like to see it mate. But, strangely, it never seems to happen.

I wonder why? Maybe its because their secrets are too dealdy, and those poor MMA people would suffer certain death. Maybe the Wing Chun fighters are banned by the ancient masters form taking part in such bouts?

Or maybe they know they'll get creamed. I know where my money is.

Then again most martial artist nowadays are pussies who are afraid of MMA competition. When I'm older I'm definitely planning on seeking out MMA competition because I mean a) if I win it proves Wing Chun's worth b) if I lose I learn a lesson. Either way I win in the end.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure most Wing Chun practitioners know it's a superior style, but people nowadays just have a lack of confidence. I mean saying their afraid to bring Wing Chun into the mainstream is like trying to bring Soccer to American mainstream. If the MLS makes one mistake, the pricks here in American jump all over them, and I guess the same could be said for MMA. Either way, I still love watching MMA for the sole reason that I love watching how styles compare.

When you're older? How the flook old are you? You're the one who's been "accusing" me of being 15!

By the way, you will learn a lesson if you do this (when mommy lets you). Let us all know when you do. I will accept your apology then.

Didn't you say you were 15? I'm only a few years older than you if that's true. It seems you talk a lot of shit for someone who can't even drive. You just sit on an online forum all day talking shit, how do you find the time to practice fighting? I find it very unlikely that you can, therefore you shouldn't even attempt to talk shit to anyone.

"Back to the dawn of time"!?! I hope this guy is joking. Some people it seems do that. There was one guy on a forum who came on arguing he was a real, true samurai, and like over 500 responses came it seemed, dumbos arguing over Japanese religion and truth, and Japanese history, people challenging him to duels with real swords (bet they'd of shit if he accepted the challenge and was serious), etc....only a few people caught on he was probably just saying crap to rile people up. Anyways, who knows.

I think the youngest fighter to ever debut on the UFC was Vitor Belfort, at age 19.

Hey anyone have Grand Theft Auto 3 and listen to the radio in a car with Lazlow, where he interviews that martial arts-yoga guy? That is hilarious

i saw some footage of a wing chun guy get schooled by a wrestler in some ufc. The wrestler shot in with a double leg right at the beginning and gets the wing chun guy in a side mount, then he goes to full mount and starts puchcing him in the face. the wing chun guy submits. I think it was pat beneteau vs. asbel cancio.

Why I think Asbel Cancio lost..

I do remember that UFC fight, and Cancio did get his ass whopped. I trained in wing chun when I was a teen for a couple of years, and even though the techniques are good, I feel it lacks the training that most thai fighters and boxers receive. When I trained in nyc with my sifu, we incorporated a lot of boxing drills. He had me hitting the speed bag, working chain punches on heavy bags, lifting weights, and he helped with my endurace. Plus i've been able to apply my chi sao not only to just the hands and forearms, but to the clinch for judo throws, and apply it in jujitsu easily.

From my own personal experience, most wing chun fighters and masters I've meet had this cocky attitude like "there is no way that any martial artist can defeat the powerful/deceptive hands of wing chun". Plus back in the day, if you were not in the direct lineage of the masters of wing chun, then you're not important. That's why I think my sifu never really hung out with other wing chun teachers, but he was always ready to train/spar/challenge people from other disciplines to improve his techniques.

In that UFC match, I don't think Cancio ever had to deal with fighting on the ground, and received a rude awakening from Dave. Asbel probably felt that hand trapping, chi sau, and wooden dummy drills would be good enough for UFC.

Wing Tsun, if you're really down for bringing Wing Chun into MA competition, then I'll be more than glad to help you out. The exercises that I do now still have a lot of WC influence, and It should help build you as a fighter in a lot of aspects.... if you need my email it's ddrive79@hotmail.com.
