That would be sick if this forum was a live one, except it would probably reveal hidden secrets such as the fact that sherwinc is prolly 8 years old, the way he preaches Kung Fu. Wisdom comes with age .

issueing a challange to someone in the Chinese arts is quite a serious affair - especially the way it was done here!!!

I think that if you are going to issue a challange you should have thought about it and not retract it straight away due to a change of heart.

You need to work on your mind a bit more. meditation will help you control your anger and stop you jumping in at the deep end for no real reason. Try it!

If you dont agree with someone or dont like what they are saying - is that their problem or yours - you are the one who's annoyed?? If someone bad mouths me or my teachers I just think 'bless' and dont think about it anymore. It is my opinion that matters to me - not other peoples.

Maybe you should make this an open challange to any martial artists that you feel 'worthy of your time'. I am sure some of the guys over there in the US will be happy to oblige you. If not its only a few hours on a plane to visit the UK.

                Sorry buddy

You see I don't really have a change in heart. The reason I choose not to do this fight is because I don't want to disrespect my sifu and every thing he has taught me. Like a said before I respect real martial artist but not fake ones who talk trash about other styles and other martial artist. I am quick to say something back always and my sifu has already told me that I must learn to walk away. One more thing is even at other fourms besides defend.net it seems like I am not the only one who do not like person thai bri. As I said before I will let this go. You see martial arts to me means a way of life and honor. I don't know what it means to you.

It means the same to me my friend,

the problem is that you insulted Bri by issueing a challange in such a way.

You then backed out insulting yourself.

emtional attachment to your teacher squews your view - dont let yourself be emotionally attached. He is a guide to teach you what he has to teach - to help your grow as a person - not a god to be reveired. He is as human and as falable as every human on this planet.

I Hope you find your way.

                  Chris

Second Thai Thai little Thai. I respect all martial arts styles. One thing I hate is when people disrespect styles and grandmasters. I am a wing chun student and william cheung is the head of the association. I don't like disrecpectful people like you bri. You call yourself a martial artist please buddy. I'll tell you what I travel alot just for tournaments. I do not mine traveling to where you are and showing you what wing chun is all about. Yes I am asking for a battle and I promise you if you accept you will learn to respect not just wing chun but all kung fu styles and most of all my grandmaster william cheung.
Please video tape!!! My money is on Bri!

                          No sorry buddy

The reason I backed out because I was acting out of anger. You see if I fight out of anger I will then be insulting myself. Thai bri your right you don't know me but some people on other martial arts forms say your real age is 15. Don't know if it's true but don't care. One other thing I don't normally video tape my fights but the next tournament I will be at will be the wong tournament I get more info on that and post it here.

This is pathetic. Both to the person issuing the challenge and the people encouraging this moronic tirade on both sides. But damn, it is too funny to not read.

to tell you guys the truth...im with thai bri on this...he may sound immature at times but some of us could learn a thing or 2 from him,15 yr old kid or no kid...kungfu,karate,tkd,mt,boxing etc can never claim to be the supreme ultimate..anyone claiming their respective art to be is a moron. as efective as MT is on the ring it wont be that good on the streets as good as kung fu is on the streets it sucks in the ring so on and so forth...its also moronic to only practice one art and miss the whole world...masters of old dont only practice 1 single artform, they too also practice some others as was evident with my/konghan's specialty,NCK. some genius 150yrs ago studied 5 or so arts then discarded all the mumbo jumbo and useless bits and retained all the best things he knew, which resulted in NCK,ugly yet effective, what u see is what u get,no essoteric postures etc. our horse stance is also very modern for its day,the sam chien horse looks a lot like what modern boxers would do and how they divide their weight. as revolutionary as NCK was/is in CMA philisophy,it will and never claim that it is a 'complete' art. there will be some things missing always.

the most important thing everybody needs to have is AN OPEN MIND. if the founder of NCK was still alive to witness the cultural exchanges that we have and take for granted now,he will sure to have studied MT,jujutsu,NHB,etc in his quest to create the most well rounded style for him...

also,i do agree that there are lots of funky sifu's around teaching crappy if not fake kungfu...so i guess this is where the stigma starts. many capitalize on the exoticness of kungfu etc...relocating hardwork, hard training aside,in china it is not unusual to hear people smashng their shins forearms and knuckles to the corner of a wall...my cousin does that(i dont know if he is still doing it now)...my point is,no matter what art u practice,if u dont have the strength to execute the mental ang psycological awareness to do them, its crap...one may master all the forms known to man,but w/o hardwork, its a piece of sh1t...i know of a braggart karate BB who got his ass kicked in a streetfight her in my neoghborhood when i was young, the person who defeated him is a condidtioned cooley/porter...who know nothing about karate but know how to deal w a fight.

also, picking fights is also OK, how can one practice/use what he knows if not to go to a fight? im not telling anyone to go out and whack anyone in random. just give a good reason for it,one would be to 'protect' a harassed lady(this one i used a lot when i was in college hehehe)...then u get a fight :-) go into a bar and u can find some urself too! ;-)

another thing is...NEVER ISSUE OPEN CHALLENGES if ur not up to it...never take it back as well...its something serious and should not be taken as a joke. a fights a fight...be a man. i have the nuts to fight 6 fraternity guys in high school...i got severely beat-up but it feels good inside..it also did a great job in conditioning me mentally and psycologically...also tought me not to be too foolish next time hehehe but the point is...never held back my words when i issue a challenge...

these are my thoughts.i wrote these in good hopes and with good intentions to help people out. i hope you guys dont see it in a different light.
