How do you say haymaker in chinese. That's pretty much all I saw at the end, besides the girly swings (from both of them).

Originally posted by shaolin-warriorOh yeah so sorry, I've studied five animal kung fu, and shaolin kempo, I have a black belt in both and am testing for my second drgree in kempo late november if all goes well. I also was a Staff Sgt./hand to hand instructor in the USAF. i'm 42, retired and a disabled vet. Funny how all the training in the world wont stop a piece if hot steel from ripping into your guts and and ruining a perfectly good flack jacket. Look forward to reading more of your posts, you have great deal of knowledge and i've actually learned quite a bit about different styles and the perspective of other artists towards their peers.

Pay Attention
I see this in every thread. People talking about things they don't fully understand. Don't get me wrong though. There are also an equal amount of people that do know what they are talking about. IF that did happen to be choy li fut, which by the way I am in. It is not a haymaker... it is actually referred to as "sow choy", also considered to be the knock out punch of choy li fut. Looks like the kid made good use of it to me. couldn't have done it any better. Sure he could have made it cleaner... but like most here know.. a fight starts on one path... but the ways it can go from there are infinite. The only thing that I disagree with about this kid would have to be his posing. Not because it looked dumb like the other people are intending in this thread. I only disagree because he shouldn't have had to approach the kid. The kf guy should have only of defended against... thats why it is self defense!

To my eye the guy you ought to be making fun of is the one flat on his back. Thats the problem with jet li, people think kung fu is supposed to be pretty...its supposed to get you home in one piece and leave your opponent flat on his back....which is exactly what happened...

you can tell that the kid the KF artist was fighting had no training other than shadow boxing. His hands down, no real defensive stance, and if he had exp, he would have swept the front leg or broken the knee. I found it interesting that the KF fighter did not grapple or grab the bald kid when they got that close to each other swinging and use a knee or elbow combo to end it. The video is kinda hard to judge their distance from each other but once he gets within 12-14 inches away the KF guy should have fired.

realize
I have noticed many people in here accrediting kf guy's victory to the other guys lacking of training. You have to realize that a lot of people that learn how to fight on the streets with no training are sometimes badass. No matter how unorthodox their style is.... like having there hands down. Obviously this guy isn't a good example... but it is something to think about. ---------- ATTENTION: I take choy li fut. I have just been personally invited to take the instructor course! ITS A BIG DEAL TO ME SO I WANTED TO SHARE IT!
