If he has any skill in fa jin then he must have put a lot of time and effort in to get that. So I respect him for that.

i dont know why people were badmouthing him, there was nothing wrong with what he was demonstrating, he wasnt trying to fosuc on perfect form, he was trying to focus on showing "no form" atall, just plain explosive power as a natural reaction/instinct, fajing is just about explosive power from your jing energy supply, i dont know if anyone here has a full grasp of the 3 energies, shen jing and qi, but you all seem to think its about pure body mech, he was demonstrating energy transfer from explosive strikes, you have to be carefull learning faijing powers though, they can drain you without proper training and jing strengthening, your jing is limited unlike Qi wich can be easily replenished, you have limited amount of jing and you have to preserve and train it,
anyways yeah his punch had good explosive power i wouldent badmouth his demonstration his form could have been better, but that wasnt the point of it atall, the point was showing no form and explosive pwer, i have a feeling alot of peple here arent up to scratch on far eastern teachings, you know the physical side but dont seem to know much of the internal energies,
peace,

Not to mention Bruce Lee. (Not a hero worship thing - just the opinion of much better and more conditioned athletes than myself)
I don't care how much body someone puts behind a punch, it will not be as powerful if they leave the floor than if they maintain some solid contact. That's why you hear boxers talk about "sitting down" on their punches. Being airborne means that the whole Newtonian "equal and opposite reaction" business is going to affect the puncher much more than if the friction and resistance of ground contact is there. I'm sure Earle can hit pretty hard, but I don't think it's any more spectacular than, say, Arturo Gatti vs. Leo Dorin, or Kostya Tzsyu vs. Sharmba Mitchell. After all, they even had gloves on, and were fighting very well conditioned, capable people!
The other thing I wondered about was the notion of follow-ups. Is this the kind of punch you're counting on to finish the job all by its lonesome? I ask simply because people who leave the floor when they punch have notoriously bad balance upon completion, especially if the opponent is shifting or angling off to one side. Recovering balance in time to put a worthwhile follow-up together on an active and moving opponent seems like it would be tough. Not saying that's the case - just asking.
As for raising up when hitting? that just means the next strikes have our body weight behind them on the way down less than a second later.
Ive also never seen a boxer with ANYWHERE near the hand speed of a fajin puncherI toy with boxers all the time...including several golden glove students ive had...

this guy can hit as hard and fast as he wants on the pads but when someone is moving round in front of him swinging at him id like to see his speed and power then ill be impressed...looking good static dose not matter in the least bit.

Hi all, just joined the forum
We do a similar punch to this in wing chun, except that our feet are planted when the strike hits.
Now ive sparred against boxers, kickboxers, karate guys, Kung Fu guys and they can hit very hard (im sure theres no argument there). But getting hit by one of these fajin style punches feels totally different. Its very hard to explain but they seem to shock your body more.
Has anyone else been hit by one and possibly explain it a little better than me????
Keep the clips coming, I for one find them very interesting.

Actually, I really enjoy the clips but like you said, in some cases, I don't know what I'm looking at and some people would rather post passive-aggressive snippets about others who think boxing is better than explain it to me.
Have i been hit by famous martial artist yes, have i been hit by a famous boxer no. The average fajin strike is faster and harder than the average boxers punch in my experience though. Granted there are ALOT more proficient boxers than Fajin strikers. I will also grant that boxing is a faster way to learn to hit.
however, im tired of people who havent trained anything for 30 years telling me whats better...it might be better for you with your experience that doesnt make it better for everyone.
also many people play sports in a ring while disrespecting the foundational arts that their sports were built from, Im getting tired of the same old shit from people who have never defended their life in a fight, but have tons of ring experience....it never dawns on them sure you do, against people who play the same game.
I'll put a 50 year old fajin striker up against a 50 year old boxer any day.
most guys who boxed dont look so good in their older years...ive seen 80 yr old kung fu guys that can kick your ass in a heart beat...certainly any 80 year old boxers ass.
