Thats the whole point dude, unless you have been hit by it you aint gonna understand. Ive been hit by both boxers and guys who can fajin strike...Id rather get hit by the boxer.
Have i been hit by famous martial artist yes, have i been hit by a famous boxer no. The average fajin strike is faster and harder than the average boxers punch in my experience though. Granted there are ALOT more proficient boxers than Fajin strikers. I will also grant that boxing is a faster way to learn to hit.
however, im tired of people who havent trained anything for 30 years telling me whats better...it might be better for you with your experience that doesnt make it better for everyone.
also many people play sports in a ring while disrespecting the foundational arts that their sports were built from, Im getting tired of the same old shit from people who have never defended their life in a fight, but have tons of ring experience....it never dawns on them sure you do, against people who play the same game.
I'll put a 50 year old fajin striker up against a 50 year old boxer any day.
most guys who boxed dont look so good in their older years...ive seen 80 yr old kung fu guys that can kick your ass in a heart beat...certainly any 80 year old boxers ass.
awwwww boar sorry if we hurt your feelings i didnt mean it really!
LMFAO!!!!! o man that little squiggle thing he did had me dying.
He has got some funny moves...the scene that looks like he is jamming at a hoe down is my favorite. That being said, OMG he had a grip like steel and hit like a ton of bricks even into his 80's.
I haven't had anything to say in this thread because my work computer sucks and I can't watch the clips. This, however, is one of the big reasons I chose to study kung fu:

Guys that practice this stuff just keep getting more dangerous as they get older. Although age will still take things away from them their practice keeps right on improving. It seems like boxers hit the peak of their ability a lot earlier in life.

modern martial artsists/fighters especially western ones neglect the most important element of staying strong and healthy as you age, its all down to your energies, when your jing is deplited you will die, when you lose the ability to gather Qi you will become weak, if you dont aquire true shen you will be weak,
if your planning on any kind of fighting/training when your older, then you have to on a daily basis practise energy methods, ie Qigong/taiji/bagua/ there are others aswell, when practising Qigong you must use both hard and soft Qigong methods, but you cant start hard qigong untill you have fully grasped soft Qigong, i really think all of you fighters here should seriously reconsider your training routines, and add some taiji/bagua or Qigong to it, you will thank yourself int he long run, the earlyer you start energy training the better, theres nothing to lose from this, but lots to gain trust me,
you must train the inner as much as the outer remember that,
My 2pence worth - Fajin relies on cennective tissue, requires root, like a spring sauqshed between your fingers then released. No root the energy is free to release in any direction.
also, to release the energy in connective tissue your muscles must be relaxed. Some comments on the video about being out of control are misleading. Also in ordet o correctly apply 'fajin' it must must changable, thats the whole point of it, it must flow directly to the opponent, so if the arm is blocked the elbow continues through.
one of the main objectives in using fajin is to uproot your opponent, thats why in certain taichi you see pushing as much as striking, once that root is lifted you must continue with more strikes or next technique. It's never about a single 'knockout' punch. That simply doesn't happen often enough and is not a reliable thing to happen. Any fight experience will tell you that.
