First rule elite fighters work off of, “I have already won the fight!” Think positive….always.

Takes guts to get out there and fight. Takes more guts to post that fight.

I am not all that familiar with San Shou, other than a few Pro fights I have seen on TV and the net. So, it’s hard for me to say…you shouda’ done that or this, etc. For all I know it would be against some rule. I agree with Samurai, a lot of fight stops/restarts, very frustrating.

A few observations, your fight seems to be inside. You need to pay attention to your boxing skills i.e. cage, footwork, and entry (into the clinch or get to those underhooks). Ane use the underhook don’t just stand there. Your standup grapple needs to step up a notch on the aggression scale. Also you missed opportunities for follow-ups after he missed with kicks especially those spinning kicks. That guy really like to kick.

Anyway good job, work on your boxing and stand up grapple, and most importantly keep it up.

      Just my .02

one thing you might wanna work on is your tendency to lean back when being punched at. leaning back to avoid punches will only keep your face/chin in punching range. you got hit a few times in the face for leaning back. you need to do the opposite when being punched at, keep your head/chin down. getting hit in the top of the head is better than getting hit in the chin or nose. also, you may want to keep your hands up a bit more. i noticed you kept dropping them, and not keeping them up sometimes.

          One Down, Several to go!!!!

Hey for your first fight that was a respectable outing. I have one observation/question, I think you mentioned earlier that you had sparred with this guy, if this is the case did you take time to develope a stratergy; ie go through a "fight" in your mind? I can personally attest to the benefit of going through several mental dress rehersals. Just keep a positive outlook and come back that much more determined and ready the next time!

try to remember the sparing match and set up a game plan if he goes to do this tyr to know before it happens so you get the hell out of the way.

well it was your first "match" and over all you did fine. Time is expierence. Heres a couple tips to help you out. When attacking dont throw a 2 or 3 punch/kick combo, throw 6 to 8. If you opponent runs back, chase him while attacking. As you close the gap moving forward and your opponent goes to step back, step on his lead foot, causing him to be off balance and an easy target. Always circle, never evade by trying to outrun your opponent backwards. Hands up next to the side off your head, and dont reach to block....let your elbows and forearms absorb damage and fend off blows. Yuor punches must start from the same position every time, dont cock back your shouulders as this will tlegraph your intentions. Good job and congratulations.
