  • Martial Art Competition - StarFord Center

    Hi Guys,

A friend told me that he read in the paper (Chinese newspaper) that there will be a large martial-art competition in Houston's Starford center.

The competition will be held in September 9th. Has anyone heard about this?

I have not been able to locate where "Starford center" is or find any additional information from that newspaper announcement.

    Thanks for any additional input....

    - David Chan.

Nope haven't heard - do you know what organization or school that will be hosting the event - that'll help in searching for more info.

The competition is supposed to be a first ever national competition held in Houston. It's sponsored by a well-known Chan (Chen?) style Tai-chi school...

And what school might that be? The only reason why I would ask that question is so that you can search the school on the net and find more info on it. For something that big they should have a site to visit.

            2007 Houston Martial art event

Thanks Npk9, I haven't checked this forum for a while, just realized you managed to find the details about last year's event. Somehow I didn't get a email notice of your last reply...

Anyhow, just checked the website, looks like this year's event is held at the same place, but in August instead. Hopefully I can attend this time.

            Thanks again!
            - D.
